Well, I'm glad my FM doesn't hate me as much as yours seems to hate you.
Just kidding, he probably doesn't trust my backing yet. I dont blame him, us rookies are accidents on wheels.

Any schools left that train on manual transmission?
If you had a class A wouldn't it be easier to rent a truck and take the test then to go through the training all over again? You may have to go through training with a company if they consider your training stale, but you could get the cdl out of the way if you already have a company in mind that is willing to hire you and send you off solo if you have a cdl.
If the company is going to require that you retrain, better to just go sign on with a company and get the cdl back through them rather then a private school as the company will usually provide you with a hotel and bus you to their terminal.

278k miles on mine, well be together for a good bit before I get the opportunity to upgrade to something else. Good chance it'll be an autoshift when I do upgrade though, we're starting to get all the miles used up on the manuals and ship em out now.

I just pulled out from the dock about 6 feet to shut my doors. Was 15 feet away.
Did that the other day, in front of the dock guy who just told me to open doors and bump the dock. Well, I had to pull out past the trucks on both sides of me to swing doors. I pulled so far forward he started waving at me to stop.

If the shipper has a scale on site, you WILL scale in. That is determine how much they can put on. They will put as much as they can on. I’ve done Budweiser loads out of Colonial Heights, VA. Very heavy. You scale in so they can determine how much product they can ship
And if they are scaling you like this, make sure you come into their yard FULL of fuel. Otherwise they will load you up and you'll be hitting truck stops left and right on your trip so you don't risk an overweight ticket.

It's a Freightliner Matthew. After living in the top bunk of a FL for the last 10 weeks with all my stuff around me, this thing feels palatial especially with the top bunk latched up against the back wall. Cheers, Kelly
You lucked out, what year is it? Also, guessing it's an autoshift? Yea, I remember upgrading to my own truck, its definitely roomier than just the top bunk for me. Still wish I had a freightliner for the better space. Or at least an ultraloft Pete

I never had one that guzzled fuel like that. I've had a few that were really loud. One was a beast. It rumbled and vibrated like you wouldn't believe. When it kicked on while in the sleeper I swear I thought the vibrations were going to steadily bounce me onto the floor while I slept.
Good thing trucks come with a safety net for bottom bunk!

My biggest gripe with the Peterbilt 579 is no storage. No place for a microwave in a 2016... That changed with the 2017 but you loose storage.
Now that I've almost gotten all the gremlins exterminated it's about time to turn it in. *sigh* Although, I'm looking forward to some of the creature comforts thw newer trucks have. Especially all the goodies on the 2019-2020 Freightliners.
Ugh, microwaves... The 2017 Pete I have, I had to wedge the smallest microwave you could buy into this hole and then put blocks under it before bunging it so I can open the door and use the darn thing. Whoever thought up that lets put the microwave spot inside a plastic area is a moron.

Kenworth T680 Automatic in Manual Mode
I am thinking it was G-Town who mentioned you can also lock your differential to help with the buck. The creep mode is on freightliners for sure, not positive on Peterbilts and Internationals. They would be silly to not be working on it if they don't have it yet, it helps a lot with backing.

Howdy, Visual Aids, Reefers
There are some youtube truckers who make video tutorials. If you're a visual guy looking some of them up might help you in that regard. I do watch some from time to time myself, as well as actually watch people back at truck stops.
