Worked in healthcare x 11 years now and totally burned out. Ready for a change and have wanted to drive a truck for years now. Can't wait until I can make it happen!
Also - I suck at the "quote" feature on the forum; cut me some slack =D

I know exactly where Donald is! Not far from me at all - maybe 20-25 mins. I'd love to meet for coffee some time. There are a few truck stops around here. Just hoped that things were going okay for you =)

Speaking of where have you been, where have YOU been, JoAnne?
Or am I just so busy I haven’t seen your posts?
Nope, you haven't missed a thing! =)
Just busy trudging through (work... yuck!) and dealing w/ an adult child who is a disaster...
Anyway, how are you doing?

My DBL told me to call him asap about the time I got done getting loaded. I thought I done messed up or something, nope he wanted me to call since I'm getting a new truck and he had to go over some things that were a bit different.
I believe it's a 18 or 19 year, I assume it's going to be another Freightliner. Pretty excited, will post pictures when I get back to the OC in the morning.
Can't wait to see it!

Game: How Do You Motivate Yourself?
The need for a PAY CHECK!!!! That (and the good benefits) keep me hanging on at my current job... Well, the fact that I need those things for my kids. If it were just me, I would NOT still be here!

I fear She may have been abducted by aliens, or Rainy?!
I'm still alive (and not abducted by Rainy LOL) Just busy trying not to quit my current job and dealing w/ life!
How's everyone here?

Is that all? No problem they'll fix them in no time. That's not very many.(Sarcasm)
No kidding! I wasn't sure (I'm no mechanic!) how serious / dangerous that could actually be. I presume if the company someone works for has these rigs, they would notify their drivers and get it taken care of ASAP? (maybe I'm being naive here??)

New tax law changes hit truck drivers hard
Thanks for posting that. That's a HUGE amount of money! Is that beneficial or does it screw you over come tax time?

Obviously.
However you are not buying/eating B,L, & D at work though. In all likelihood you only eat lunch at work. You are not currently living out of your truck or out of a suitcase in a hotel traveling for your job.
...to reiterate:
Remember the primary differentiator is living in the truck for days/weeks/months at a time vs. living at home and returning their every work day.
Can’t make it any clearer than that.
Yes, I fully comprehend that...

Now I'm waiting to get towed back to the yard. The picture doesn't show it but my coolant tank is also leaking.
Yuck; that is so frustrating!!!! Sorry =(

From a not-yet-driver: you can't deduct your meals or cell phone for other jobs either. I used my cell phone at work and have to prepare / buy meals while I'm at work. Not sure why it would be expected that you COULD deduct these?
Are you buying breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Nobody else is buying my meals =)

I make lists, take notes, and use the crap out of my Google calendar and the notification function. Not because I love it. Just due to my advanced age and not being able to remember S#!*
LMAO!!! My age isn't very "advanced" and I have to write everything down too! My philosophy is "If it ain't written down, it ain't gonna happen!"
