Peterbilt / Keworth Recalls

Is that all? No problem they'll fix them in no time. That's not very many.(Sarcasm)

No kidding! I wasn't sure (I'm no mechanic!) how serious / dangerous that could actually be. I presume if the company someone works for has these rigs, they would notify their drivers and get it taken care of ASAP? (maybe I'm being naive here??)

New tax law changes hit truck drivers hard

Per diem and meal deduction

Thanks for posting that. That's a HUGE amount of money! Is that beneficial or does it screw you over come tax time?

Obviously.

However you are not buying/eating B,L, & D at work though. In all likelihood you only eat lunch at work. You are not currently living out of your truck or out of a suitcase in a hotel traveling for your job.

...to reiterate:

Remember the primary differentiator is living in the truck for days/weeks/months at a time vs. living at home and returning their every work day.

Can’t make it any clearer than that.

Yes, I fully comprehend that...

Bad First Day Back

Now I'm waiting to get towed back to the yard. The picture doesn't show it but my coolant tank is also leaking.

Yuck; that is so frustrating!!!! Sorry =(

From a not-yet-driver: you can't deduct your meals or cell phone for other jobs either. I used my cell phone at work and have to prepare / buy meals while I'm at work. Not sure why it would be expected that you COULD deduct these?

Are you buying breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Nobody else is buying my meals =)

Where's the Love for Swift??

double-quotes-start.png

I make lists, take notes, and use the crap out of my Google calendar and the notification function. Not because I love it. Just due to my advanced age and not being able to remember S#!*

LMAO!!! My age isn't very "advanced" and I have to write everything down too! My philosophy is "If it ain't written down, it ain't gonna happen!" rofl-1.gif
