G-Town: You are absolutely right! I got a little down on myself but I spoke with my uncle who has been driving for 30+ years and he said don't worry there are plenty of other companies out there. He definitely right because I may be going with Swift either at the end of this month or next month! So that made me feel better. I just need to get my permit (which I am doing this Friday) and I will be scheduled for Memphis.

Update: I apologize for not updating but I have been busy. So i never did get that email from them and no phone calls. So I have moved on and will probably be going with Swift with training in Memphis TN. I have my DOT physical done and getting my permit this Friday. I will hear back from my recruiter by next Monday hopefully with the go ahead. :-)

Well I spoke with my recruiter this morning, and he asked if I had gotten an email form them to which I replied that I did not. He just said to keep an eye out for an email. So that makes me nervous. In my experience, emails are bad news and phone calls usually contain good news. I'm a little anxious to see what the email contains and a little sad because I am expecting the worst news. confused.gif

Not a driver yet but... have you started working on the High Road Training here as well as reviewing Daniel B's pretrip study guide?

Yes I have. I have gone through all of the permit information and have taken numerous practice tests. I also did a few of the endorsements as well just for giggles. I actually just came across the pretrip study guide the other day and the acronyms that he uses (PMS- properly mounted and secured, CBB- cracked bent or broken, and ABC - abrasions, bulges, and cuts)helped me to remember the wording needed for the pretrip.

I have been interested in changing careers for a while and have been looking at truck driving. My uncle has been driving for 35 years and my cousin drove for the Army while completing 2 tours in Iraq so trucking isn’t a new concept to me; also my father worked for Northeast Great Dane repairing trailers in Massachusetts.

So I submitted an application to Wil-Trans and was called the next day and spoke with my recruiter Chris. We went over the usual information on the company such as the training process and benefits. So far I have a tentative start date of January 21, 2018. This is if everything goes smoothly. I do know that my MVR has been completed already and just waiting to hear from Chris tomorrow about any updates.

Apparently they only accept 6 students at a time and is very competitive. I was told there is a wait list which is why January 21 is the date.

Once I have an update I will post it. Feel free to hand out advice for this newbie confused.gif

DOT physical

I am relocating to Idaho at the end of next year and was looking to get my CDL. Now what I am nervous for is the DOT physical because I have high blood pressure that is treated, MILD sleep apnea that my doctor said did not need to be medically treated at this time, and am on an antidepressant (lexapro). If I get notes from my doctors stating that none of these medications will interfere with driving a CMV would they pass me?
