CR England training day 1

As far as teaming at CRE, is that a permanent situation there? I'm in what they call phase II. In this phase you have to team for 3 months. After that your training is complete and you can go team or solo

CR England training day 1

I know it's been a while since the last update, sorry. I did my 30 days otr with a trainer. It could have been worse lol. I learned a lot but not really my trainer. He slept after my first 10 minutes behind the wheel. After that if I was driving he was sleeping. He wouldn't let me back the truck though. So when I got to a shipper he'd kick me out of the driver's seat. After my 30 days I went back to south Holland yard and upgraded. This consists of a road test and an alley dock which the guy there was nice enough to teach me. I'm now in a truck with a lady that went to school with me running team. Neither of us can back for **** but I'm learning. My problem is that my CO driver doesn't like mountains, weather, driving at night, or driving mode than 7 hours. She won't do any of the paperwork or use the Qualcomm. This leaves me doing 80%of the work for 50% of the pay.

Alcohol violations. They found a case of water bottles filled with vodka!

Why did she get kicked out? Bad training or alcohol violation?

Lol. They actually had to have the police remove her. They gave her a bus ticket home and she refused to leave

Great news. Congratulations! I'm assuming your original roomie is long gone by now, doubt she made it past the UA!

CR England training day 1

So I am now in week 2 of phase 1. My trainer had a dedicated route. This means ohio to arizona back to ohio then to Virginia then back to ohio and reset. I'm getting lots of drive time,10-11 hours a day. Learning how to adjust tandems and fifth wheel. Not loving sitting in a truck stop every weekend but such is life. Not getting much backing practice yet but he promises we will.

Sorry I haven't been updating here. I have been training and studying and it's paid off. I took my cdl test and passed it wednesday. Went to orientation Wednesday afternoon and was transferred to a different hotel on Thursday. I'm now waiting for a trainer to start phase one. I'm proud to be one of the few who passed their first time. I'm also excited to get on the road.

CR England training day 1

Sorry I have been too busy to update. I'm on day 7 of training. Let me tell you that I have never before been behind the wheel of a big truck. I have learned straight back, off set (left and right), parallel (left and right), and am now on my second day driving with an instructor. I have spent every night going over my pre trip. I have about 3/4 of it down pat. This school is exactly what you make of it. I came here to learn and i'm doing that. Love it so far.

CR England training day 1

I took a bus from nc to burns harbor Indiana. His ride took 48hrs with layovers. Never again. Once I arrived at the motel, which is the bus stop, they assigned me a room.

I thought ok I can handle this for a couple weeks. Then my roommate came in from school. She started drinking and smoking in the room which are both against the rules. Long story short I changed things the next day. My first day at the school just consisted of signing all the paperwork and drug test. I already have my permit so we just had to wait to start the class. Day two..... We get on the bus to class at 6am. Basic classroom stuff. Went over rules of the range. Power points on backing and pre trip inspection. Glad completed about 4:30 pm .Tomorrow we are starting on the range. It's supposed to snow. At least if it does I'll already be a step ahead of the drivers who don't know how to drive in the snow. I can say I learned in the snow.... lol. I'll try to update after class tomorrow.

Starting training with CR England next week!

Did you start training yet? Also, just noticed you are from NC. Hope all goes well.

I got to the training on Wednesday after a 48hr bus ride. Did paperwork on Thursday. Started classroom today. Will get ot on the range tomorrow. Of course they are calling for snow tomorrow. That's ok. If I learn in the snow I'll be prepared for snow.
