Trucker Humor: Trucking Company Name Acronyms
Yes, Anne. Some of those Acronyms you refrained from spelling out might be a little too naughty for some of our younger drivers🤣
You LOVE playing the 'age card' on me, RD ~!!! Y!?!?!? LoL...
Schneider: Since can’t have nuts eat instead Doritos every ride
We do it like this: SNI
So Naughty Inside ~!! (could substitue NASTY, too.. I guess, haha!)
GN peeps..

Is it normal to wait a while for a trainer?
Why do you don’t expect a company to know a trailer needs service, how about a company pre trip on the trailers, I run linehaul and no reason a terminal loading a trailer can’t pre trip it, a lot of wasted time could disappear, hooking up the other day and 2 trailer seals blown, that’s not something that’s easily overlooked, just load it and let the driver deal with it, responsibility should start with the company
WE is good for experience not for making money.
I found it good for both.
Most of us experience troubles like you did, but we learn how to deal with the issues. We don't expect the company to know things like which trailers need service. That's clearly the driver's responsibility to report those things. So, your problem came from your fellow drivers who speak worse of the company than you do. You can't lay blame on the company when the drivers are not taking care of what's clearly their responsibility.
As far as hearing from the CEO, I've never experienced that anywhere, nor would I ever expect to. We have driver managers who communicate with us, and the less communication you need is generally an indication that you are doing really well.
Of course we are thrilled that you are happy with your new gig, but we also know you could have done better at Western Express. It's tough. I can empathize with that. Our first trucking job is just tough on us. We like to see people figure it out and develop themselves into drivers that know how to deal with the issues.

Dad in scohfield Barracks December 7 08:20 showering when His world changed
I'm bumping this thread back up to the top for Navypoppop's sake. I've been poking all around our site lately. There are so many pages here that we forget about some of the great stuff buried in here. Now, I've been hanging around here for a long time, and only a handful of you have been here long enough to remember our crusty old friend "Pappy." He was a unique individual and had a great sense of humor. He's gone now, but he's left a few great memories here. One of them is an article he wrote about his Paw Paw's experience at the Pearl Harbor attack.
Here is a link to it. I hope you'll read it. There's some great history in it and it's well done.

That Wyoming wind is terrifying!
Shut down last night in Rawlings, was gusting pretty damn bad, nothing in that box in worth your life, it’s our responsibility to make the call and do what’s best, Last 3 trips has been the same, running Chicago to Portland turnarounds and 80 in wyoming is always crapshoot, anything over 40 I will not do elk, not worth it, get the 511 app and listen to the notifications, wdot puts up any news, trust it completely, they know what there talking about, well 640 today and finally in Omaha going to bed, be safe all....
Been awhile since I posted here, been doing allot of covid loads from New York to California and back. And holy moley I never knew how windy it could get out west! On I-80 in Wyoming there was a “extreme rollover risk” advisory and 75mph wind gusts. I ended up getting caught in it and I never had a scarier moment trucking so far. I drove in it a bit driving pretty slow with my hazards on. I don’t get how some of these truckers are just flying down the road doing 70 mph in such wind. I passed 3 other semis that were rolled over in a ditch and then I just parked it on a off ramp for it to calm down. Definitely the most stressful day of driving I think I’ve ever had.
