I love a good laugh, and the other night I was talking with some of the other students of Celadon who are at various places in their training. We came across the topic of acronyms that people have came up with over the years and some of them are downright hilarious. Would it be an issue if we built this thread up with some innocently humorous stuff?

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I can't stop smiling. Yes, this is what it is about.

In Georgia we had many for all the local drivers. I was a local driver for a while.

Consolidated Freight--- Corn Flakes

Roadway--- Really Old Ass Driver Working Another Year. (sorry)

Can't remember them all. No, I didn't drive for Roadway. I wasn't old enough, THEN. Daniel B. has out done us all. See what happens when you drive for miles and miles.
