I need help/guidance to finishing my CDL&who to go with(company)

Sherry, if you have the permit and three weeks of instruction, perhaps you need to go back to the beginning and find a company to start new with. So you have to get another 3 weeks or so of instruction and maybe everything will start to fall into place. But go to a company that offers paid training. Is that still an option for you?

I want to if another company is willing. I enjoyed what I learned very much and want to continue.

Sherry, I did a podcast about CDL training and why it's done on such a fast timetable. Have a listen and see if this helps you understand it a little better:

Episode 5: Why Is Truck Driver Training Done In Such A Rush?

I wish I had heard this before. 3 weeks isn't just enough for some people as done through a company. Maybe a private school like Napier(5 weeks) or college route is something that I wished I looked into instead.

Not to schill for my own company, but Schneider sent me to school for three weeks as well. It also wasn't enough for me, because I failed. I went back to retest, and failed again. Well I talked to my local CDL school, and they got their Schneider rep to get me 4 hours of instruction and another road test. The school gave me way more than 4 hours, but I failed the road test by hitting the curb. So I was a three time loser, but I didn't give up. I managed to scrape up$500 to pay for another test truck rental and I passed that time. That was almost a year ago, and Schneider has now given me a brand new 2019 truck with all the things I wanted on it. I've become a much, much better driver as well. Keep persevering and you'll get it.

Thank you for sharing your story. Maybe all isn't lost. I will make some phone calls on Monday.

Welcome Sherry. Did they send you home or did you give up? Company schools really want people to succeed and generally give multiple chances and extra help. Please share what company sponsored school you attended so we can better advise. In the mean time, here CDCare some great links to help you in your quest for information.

I don't want to mention the school/company on here. Its pretty much not what I expected that I was lead to believe and the school's employees(instructors) are not on the same page. Its all just a long story. I just wanted to ask for guidance of what I do can to go from here. I still have my permit they had me get in Colorado(even though my home is Ohio) I just need a little guidance(confidence) on Offset and Alley docking and I'm sure I can pass enough for the CDL license and now find someone that will give me a chance to go from there. 👍

I trusted a company to go to Colorado to train. 3 weeks isn't enough to train.(this included getting permit) In my 3rd week, I got tested and failed. Went back home(original state) and now don't know what to do. I need help with offset&alley docking in order to pass test for CDL pic and a company I can trust to take me on and continue so I can be a successful driver. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
