Excuses,Excuses and procrastination

Hey Chip!

I'm in the same boat you are. A friend of mine and I are working on getting a team position at Schneider. He has 6 months car hauling experience so as far as Schneider is concerned, he's good to go. I, on the other hand, need the refresher course (January '13 CDL grad). I've been trying since mid-November to get my CDL school to give me info on a refresher and it's been like pulling teeth! confused.gif My buddy and I should have been out with trainers by now if my school was on the ball. I looked at Western Express but the refresher pay is pretty low and we really want to start out with Schneider. Good luck to you and keep us up to date.

Congrats on popping the question and on the career choice!

p.s. asking her Dad for the blessing was waaaay harder. Amiright guys?

Oh, yeah... 23 years ago, my future Father-in-Law wanted to make sure we weren't just "playing house" when his daughter and I asked him for his blessing to live together before we got married.

Starting orientation with Schneider National

Is anyone reading this? Shall I continue?

Absolutely! I'm considering Schneider so the first-hand information you are providing is invaluable.

Anyone know anything about All State Career truck driving school?

As for the price the government is paying a little more than 60% of the tuition, as for the remainder of the cost i will be on a monthly payment plan starting 6 months after I graduate to the tune of $60.00 a month.

The school I went to actually lowered their cost to the amount my GI Bill was going to pay (which was 60%) when the paperwork came through. I know you said you're "locked in" but do you have any wiggle room to check with and maybe negotiate a better deal with another school?

Thanks for the kudos! Anything I can do to bring back a good flashback. Bet you miss the tight turning radius! Figure I'd share a picture of what I drive now and change it when I get my first job.

Looking for guidance in choosing company for team driving

Yeah, everyone is right - drivers are almost always more than happy to talk and rarely happy to have to stop talking.

And most drivers are ultra-conservative in their views so whatever you do don't mention Obama, gun control, or immigration laws or you'll be there til the end of time!

Sounds like we'd get along just fine. I'll make sure my schedule is clear before stopping to talk!

Just got laid off from my job so we're getting closer to taking the leap and signing on with Schneider.

Finished First Week Of Schneider Orientation

I'm very interested to hear how orientation goes for you at Schneider. A friend of mine and I are close to pulling the trigger and signing up with Schneider as team drivers so I'll be watching for your updates. Best of luck with your trainer.
