Hiring women willingly?

Pretty much all of them. Companies like us women drivers as we have different mindsets than men do and generally are safer drivers.

Do you have your CDL?

Yes, I've been driving a few weeks short of 2 years. Then my company let me go but I had to correct a mistake on Hireright's report first. Now that' done.... it Seems everybody complained there's so few trucking jobs I'm just trying to get the Tenstreet app process going again. My age is mid 60s but health is great. I did keep my Medical card updated so 2 years renewed recently on that.. Not driving since mid November, I guess will look strange. Any hints will help. Love being out for weeks, but Dedicated is really to my liking. My circadian rhythm is definitely early morn. running but not 1AM. More like 5 AM. There is a test now to prove your best waking hours. Lots of people say I'm not a real trucker if I dont enjoy driving any hours on the clock. But I cannot sleep on demand. CPAP usage for 8 years works like a dream for me. Our sleep study doctors now confirm there is actually Circadian Rhythm, please don't beat me up on that topic..... I can drive any hour, but cannot nap (daytime) on demand, going into 5th sleep stage is Study verified and takes more than 4 hours. This post isn't to listen to debunking science evidence, it's to synchronize with it. Thankyou Brett for a great place to see all kinds of drivers out here!

Parking lot incidents,no Ticket?

Yes, we all have to do backing but I've never had issues with that procedure cuz I'm hyper careful, always GOAL and many drivers around me become helpers knowing and seeing I'm a newbie...lol I don't reject help and wisdom from these seasoned drivers but they've shared sooo much in hints and methodologies individually. That's when I could see there was NO way I was even near the guy who "claimed" I backed into him, as I had about 200 feet in front of me to straighten my T/T out! A driver walking his dog came up to me later saying he watched me get parallel to the curb and he shared the payoff plan with me, but....he saw my innocence and it was after Sheriff left. You could have knocked me over with a feather that day even imagining I could/ would have needed to even get near him. It's a lesson that cost me big time. The kid stuttered badly and said he'd just gotten his CDL, and parked there 4+ days in same spot said alot to me. Felt sorry for him.

Parking lot incidents,no Ticket?

Kirsey that's good advice! Since that happened I will be diligent to call Safety when another driver accused me. It was my "attitude" the young driver said that made him call my company. When I asked him what that meant he said it was like I ignored him .... I told him if I could say I was possibly guilty I would have called my company. Lesson I learned; If accused ...call anyway... Thanks everybody who responded. Also, I no longer remain parking in these places unless having to do laundry and shower, then I leave for Rest areas where backing is limited. Our company policy was and now is ..."avoid backing up at all costs unless you have to.." Now I know why. Also, some drivers told me some take bribes, ...unless your attitude is a payoff, I'm going to call your company! Huh?!?! I'm new so I didn't realize desperate drivers will do unscrupulous things. Thanks to ALL, and a Merry Christmas!

New to trucking

I'm a newer driver but whatever you do ONE answer is not to " abandon " your truck unless you run out of fuel because your fuel card is not honored! That will pretty much be a great reason for any trucking company not to hire you again elsewhere..... Secondly, if you're trying to communicate any confusion you have, many other drivers have wisdom to see objectively. I'd ask another driver in the company about a few questions you have, but ultimately it sounds like you need to make a list of priorities. Contact payroll so you make sure what's being deducted, or it might be an actual mistake. In these days, smaller companies are going bankrupt at an alarming rate....it's possible other drivers are experiencing the same IF THAT IS THE CASE.... Then, next question should be to please ask for another Dispatcher to be assigned to you, preferably on a Monday I've heard sometimes drivers conflict with their initial Dispatchers, it's common to get assigned to another one maybe who speaks your native tongue. I've been able to understand Spanish as I had to take it for 10 years but I still prefer English.... I hope this helps and prayer will always return an answer not necessarily right away but He has plans for us.

Parking lot incidents,no Ticket?

The Hireright report had no accidents listed on it until I myself filled out an application on line with Tenstreet!! The new Carrier that hired me a few weeks later asked me why I filled my record up when it wasn't necessary because he called my Carrier and they listed me as being let go for Misconduct,....I asked and they said because I didn't call in the accident that never happened. I didn't want to be a victim of insurance fraud or participate in it either, that's why I've never admitted to something I didn't do. So do I admit to fraud to align with a false accident?! I always thought it's wrong to lie. My company paid out to a driver last year for taking his mirror off and he never called police or took any pictures! They never even told me where it supposedly happened...so I asked them to please remove it and they did...

In the "faux" accident I had the Policeman say to me,"There is nothing I can say about you having done anything wrong, and I'm not citing you for anything, but if your company gives you a hard time just have them call I'm not writing any ticket for you." I'm scared to admit to any accident that never happened and also not to admit to my alleged guilt, is this a plea deal without a court sentencing? Wow... I am told Hireright is the synonym for DAC. In my own words I saw what I wrote bit I did nothing wrong, basically my Carrier threw me under the bus and accused me without evidence.

Parking lot incidents,no Ticket?

I've only been driving a couple of years for a fairly large carrier. There were two times in a parking lot I had hit a parked truck, then--- a corner of a trailer and the landing gear got bent slightly enough to slide gracefully down like melting butter. No damage to freight in either case. Not significant damage to my own trailer. No police needed at Brewery(just other parked trailer damage), just guard noted all. Still ...I called in to Safety in both cases...When Police arrived at my situation when I called them , I'd hit the corner of a drivers bumper, definitely my fault, in fear....a driver threatened to shoot me....He told me I better back up at a TA so HE could finish rounding the corner, not allow me to finish rounding corner. Policeman said I wasn't going to be cited for anything and wouldn't let me find driver, gone probably. Then curiously, a third "accident" this year that never occurred,..was a bobtailed driver in a corner(he stayed in corner 4 days) who falsely accused me of backing into his truck chrome --said he was calling my Carrier cuz he didn't like my 'attitude'....huh?!? Sure enough, without camera or witnesses he called them. I took it that it was impossible because there was a hydrant between us....not even close.... When Policeman arrived at TA in Troy, Illinois he asked the driver for proof, --there was a small crease in his chrome but tiny and at same level of every other trailer in the world. My company fired me 30 days later for not reporting this faux " accident". Now I'm trying to get a job and due to 3 "Accidents" nobody wants to look at me! NEVER A SPEEDING ticket, moving violations on a highway, failed inspection in two years! Since these these 3 were off the highway but should I put that third FAUX incident/accident down? I'm confused what constitutes incident VS. Accident in these cases. Third one is preventing a job now.. But on Tenstreet, I shot myself in foot the company that hired me next said! Guy hiring me said,"Lots of drivers make same error in putting down every little thing." Had to quit working for them --they switched me to night driving--just hated reefer night docks etc. Now that I'm filling out an application for a" NON Hireright " user --small family company --- what should I be honestly saying about the FAUX incident/accident??? Please help, ...was told I was too honest!! Now what? Huh! Omg.....
