When leaving our warehouse and heading into the city the shortest route has a street which is posted with an 8 ton weight limit.
Most of the company's straight trucks are under CDL weight (25,500 gvw) and are 14,500 empty. After finishing all deliveries, could these trucks legally use this street to return to the warehouse?
When I took my CDL test I asked the instructor this question. He said that it depends on what kind of mood the authorities are in.
I have heard that the weight limit is based on GVW, and also that it is based on actual weight. Does anybody know what the correct answer is?
