Is It That Easy?

Hi Gang, I've been going over the High Road CDL training recently (masterful, I might add. Very thorough!), and I did a few of the California practice tests that I found online. What I notice is that the online practice tests (which are supposedly just like the actual test), seem very easy; almost too easy. Can someone confirm that the real DOT test is actually three multiple-choice answers per question? Brett's training really makes you think and reason with the question/ answers. The practice tests that I've taken elsewhere seem rather simple with the obvious answer and two 'you must be an idiot if you pick one of these' choices.

Any insight much appreciated!

Having just passed my permit I can say for the most part it is that easy.

Only issue I had was my Tanker section, several of the questions where not from the Tanker section of the Highroad or my states book.

I used several online pretest that had same/similar question to those I ran into on the test to study and passed with no wrong answer.

Good to know. Pretty much same thing the recruiter said. Hardest thing will be missing the kids and them me. Trying to get them ready for the big change, knowing I'll get home on time helps.

Great news! Congratulations! Plenty of friendly Prime folks here to help you out with any Prime-specific questions you might have.

Where are you going for orientation?

I've been lurking around since September as I had to wait for a few things before getting started. So between the people hear, and my recruiters I got most questions answered. I guess the big one is how good are they at getting you home, everything I seen says they manage to do pretty good and recruiter said every 4 to 6 weeks for 3 days.

Orientation will be Pittsford.

Storms: Wonderful world of Trucking

I know fort pit tunnels out of Pittsburgh are closed with a rig stuck on the hill. Stay safe out there, not sure if I'm happy or scared to be starting my training this time of year.

When I pass my permit on Friday I'll be putting in my two weeks and heading to Pittsford to start my training with Prime

Hi.... Then don't fail. Make a commitment and get it done. I am a woman who started at 41 years old. I did it... You can too.

Local can be tough so even if you find one who will take you which is rare due to insurance costs....it could be very difficult.

Check out my video Should Rookies Go Local?

Thanks. It's just alot more then expected and a big risk.My uncle ran OTR for years. (Always joked he should have gone for ice roads up in Canada)

I've actually looking at prime and swift as well. Read on another post to look around first. So checking what best for as I'm assuming I will spend the next two years their. (Many of the jobs I've been looking at the require CDL have two years listed.

Currently reading my Pay CDL A handbook trying to get ready for my permit. Going for my hazardous, Tank, and Double/triple. I want to be open to haul anything. Also looking at the possibility of dealing with the shale plants in my area
