Married team, 1 exp., 1 rookie, where to start?

My husband has been driving for 25+ years, OTR and local. I am currently in a local CDL training program. I was a passenger with him for about a year in 2010 and 2011. Our goal is to team drive preferably long haul. He leased in the past, then became an O/O, unfortunately, his truck broke down and it was not worth the cost to fix it, so he went back to local delivery in 2012. My question is, what companies will hire a new driver without him jeopardizing his worth. I understand newbies make less money, but he is very experienced. Any ideas on where to look? If he leases again will that make it easier? Welcoming any input. Thanks in advance.
