Day Zero Werner

CBTs and a quick road test. First time driving in an automatic truck. I was not entirely prepared for the downshift when I let go of the accelerator, I'm preaching to the choir likely. Here we go.

Turned in papers and received an email confirmation for the tuition reimbursement, at least one thing went quickly. Yes yes yes hurry up and wait is still the theme of the day. Going to day 3, simulator/CBT/SMITH driving/range & backing/ who knows followed by lunch. LOL. Keeping positive, cuz it is what it is. I have a feeling that on the road will be different than explained in a classroom. Talk at y’all later.

Well, for good or bad, I am well versed in hurry up and wait. Day 2 of orientation coming up. I think CBT’s today and turn in the papers for the apprenticeship program.

I would choose better but the shuttle stops running at 5pm on Sunday. It was a great treat, pizza happens only a few times a year. LOL.

I passed my road test today!!!

Well I am headed to Omaha on Sunday. I will be flying since there aren't ANY rental cars available for at least two to three weeks out. Just hope that I don't get on one of the flights that winds up on CNN.

CDL past records rules

I had to explain a 30+ year old misdemeanor. So it might take explaining that you’re human and have learned from and have not repeated your past actions.

Small victories in school is what it is all about. You won’t “master” everything while there, and the companies know this. I try to recall the one new thing I have learned each day and build on it the next. It’s your journey.

Set up for orientation in Omaha on 7/26/21. No PODS available out of Utah, will wind up starting on a Western 14 dry van. Supposedly 70% drop and hook, and I'm OK with that.
