Thanks, Daniel. I guess I will just have to fork out the dough. Can you suggest a model?

GPS Systems

Hey all. I was wondering if you really need to get the GPS systems for truckers or if a normal one will do. I really can't afford the one made for truck drivers right now however I really don't want to go without some kind of guidance. While watching videos it appears a lot of truckers are just using the standard one. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Shifting at Railroads

Hey all. I am studying for my CDL, using trucckingtruth.com's program of course, and I understand you are not allowed to shift gears while driving over railway tracks. What I don't understand is why? Forgive my ignorance, however, I am one of those people that needs to know why something is the way it is.

Do I have to study Passenger Vehicle Sections?

Greetings once again. I am going for my CDL to drive tractor-trailer and I was wondering if I need to study the sections about passenger vehicles as well. I don't plan on doing any bus driving however I am unsure if the written exams are all-inclusive. I have not been studying the section on passenger vehicles albeit it just dawned on me that it might on the test anyway.

School or Company Sponsored Training?

Hey all. I want to start my career in truck driving however I am stuck on what I should do. I don't know if I should attend a local school or go with a company sponsored training program. I was hoping some people out there have some company sponsored experience that they could share that's not negative. It seems that everything online about it is either outdated or negative and I know someone out there had to have had a positive experience with it. A local school would be nice since I would be close to home and have more employment options upon graduating however it's a bit expensive for this lower-middle class worker. Company sponsored training would appear to be the answer, however, you are locked in a contract with a company for a year and I don't really like the sound of that. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Failed Pre-Employment Drug Screen

It was a PRE Employment, meaning, I applied for a job there. When I failed the test they withdrew the offer of employment so I never actually worked for the company.

Failed Pre-Employment Drug Screen

Hello all! I have noticed that most trucking companies ask if I have ever failed or refused a drug test. Is this just for DOT related jobs or all jobs in general. I failed a pre-employment drug screen last year, a false positive that I was not allowed to retest for. Is this on a record somewhere or should I just say "no" on the application? I have NEVER failed or had a DOT drug screen. Also, I never worked for the company that I supposedly failed the pre-employment test for. Thank you in advance for your help.
