No, the passenger endorsement is a separate test. You do not have to take it. The only three test required for your CDL is general knowledge, combination and air brakes. You must take those three test to get you permit. Never say never. I got all the endorsements I could including passenger. You never know what the future brings and what opportunities present themselves. You may be in a truckstop talking to someone and get offered a sweet deal driving a bus. It could happen!

Greetings once again. I am going for my CDL to drive tractor-trailer and I was wondering if I need to study the sections about passenger vehicles as well. I don't plan on doing any bus driving however I am unsure if the written exams are all-inclusive. I have not been studying the section on passenger vehicles albeit it just dawned on me that it might on the test anyway.
