Average Miles

My question has probably been ask and answered before and if so I apologize for the repeat. What would you experienced drivers say the average over all mileage is across the board from origin to destination? I am looking for a industry average among all types of freight.

Laundry

I would like to know how you find places to do your laundry if your out for weeks at a time? Do truck stops have any facilities or do you have to find one in an area you are in when time allows?

Staying Out

Thanks. I would want lower 48. I'm single no commitments. I'm thinking of selling my house. It's my understanding all you really need is a permanent address. I have lots of relatives that own homes so I could use there address. Better to pay them to take care of my mail than to rent a place I would never be in. That way I could stay out as long as the company would allow.

Staying Out

If I wanted to just stay out on the road and not bother with home time. What Dry Van or Reefer companies would be a good fit?

Multiple DUI's and finding a truck driving job

Thanks Starcar, for your transparency and encouragement. Im sure there is a company open to the idea of giving a person a chance. Im in no hurry I have employment that supplies my needs. Thinking I may be open to a career change in a year or two. I spent most of my adult life travelling and working all over the U.S. I would like to get paid for travelling and I am a loner by nature. Thinking trucking would be the perfect next career for me.

Multiple DUI's and finding a truck driving job

Im not sure maybe 5 or 6 between the ages of 18 and 35. I would have to obtain a copy of my driving record. My point being that was 20 years ago. Since that time my life has completely changed and my driving record is spotless. I am 55 now.

Multiple DUI's and finding a truck driving job

I have had multiple DUI's in the past. My last driving offense of any kind was over 20 years ago. I have noticed on a lot of company sites they say no more than 1 DUI in a life time. Will my past stop me from having a future in the trucking industry?

Internet and WiFi on the road

Clear can be ok in some cases but when I had it at my home I could not use it for skype or yahoo messenger. It was way to slow. Also they have only limited areas of service.
