There's an Australian on Youtube (alwaysoffroad) who has done trucking in North America. He's back in Australia now, but I believe he got a trucking job through a canadian company. It may be easier getting a truck job via Canada.

Two boards you might try:

Truckingboards.com is a big LTL hangout but the style/culture of the board sometimes makes it difficult get simple answers to questions. In other words, lots of snark...but it is interesting to read to get an idea of attitudes and culture at different companies.

Thetruckersreport.com has an LTL subforum as well as well as a Conway subforum. Note: the Conway forum is oriented more towards Truckload (OTR) than Freightload (LTL). Generally a little more focused so you might get more useful responses....

Consider bus driving as another option if you already have (or can get) your passenger endorsement. Of course, you'll need to be comfortable dealing with people in all sorts of situations....

I believe Conway Freightload is rolling out driver facing cameras. Not something I would care for but I guess I could learn to tolerate it.
