Congrats and good luck. I don't think it can be preached enough the High Road Training Program will get you there. I took most of it and passed all 4 test prime required of me in one try. Be ready to hurry up at wait your class maybe smaller then mine so it may be a little easier on you but it is worth it to be patient with everyone they are working hard and fast to get you done.

I can't agree more. Mikey has a good point about taking the high road program. Study, study and study some more. If at all possible get your permit before you get here because they will not have a class to prep you for the exam. That is all on you and you will already have enough stress with everything else that is going to happen here. Not to scare you but it's the truth. I have seen it for the last two days where some of these folks are now behind or struggling and that is unfortunate. When you get here you need to be a sponge, listen and know the whole process is an interview. And most of all do not be late for anything. When in doubt ask a question. The instructors are very helpful but you are expected to execute all the tasks they assign you. This is a clear demonstration you can take care of yourself and problem solve. This key to being a successful trucker. Good luck to you and look forward to hearing your story.

Well tonight,,had a little change,,,,,They emailed me and told me they were moving my date to the 26th.....I am dissapointed but oh well...a little more studying time,,,and I am doing the High Road Training,,,,,and it is helping me retain a lot......thank you all for the support,......Lil

Hey Lil 1 ragamuffin, don't sit around waiting on them. Pester them with phone calls, they appreciate a pro-active person coming into their program. I promise you that little bit of effort on your part will pay off. It will keep your name at the top of someones list of applications to be worked on, and get it processed quicker.

All you have to do is ask, "Hey I filled out an application recently and I would like to know what the status is?" Trust me, that will help get your's moving to the top of the stack. They are probably going to tell you what else they need from you each time you get through to someone and that will keep things progressing.

You will get your license in the state that you live in.. Typically they will just transfer it over to your home state from the state that you have tested in.

I would just call or send your recruiter an email and explain that you're considering obtaining your permit before you come into their academy and ask them whether or not there will be any issues with it. Also, you wont be able to take the tests for the permit until you get your DOT medical card (at least thats the case in Arizona!).

So i have seen some say if you get permit ahead of time, it saves time. However, I was under the impression you permit is only good for the state permit is issued in. Can someone explain..... I was wondering if maybe there are different guidelines where it is a school you are enrolled in rather than learning with an individual. I appreciate the clarification. Studying for test right now.
