Extended frame tractors

It looks longer than it is because that's only a 48" sleeper on the back. The truck itself is only a 270" wb.

My upcoming adventure

I think it proves Taylor Swift is a big fan of PackRat. Why else would she need 90 semis?

Lots and lots of shoes.

Heavy load

Robert I have been meaning to ask,was you is your picture of your truck taken at Anchor Ingredients in Hillsboro? I live nearby and see lots of Foltz trucks coming and going?

That's at Fromm in Mequon Wisconsin but I'm at Hillsboro quite a bit.

That's not enough weight for them to even worry about, especially with you being under gross. Texas has the highest overweight fines but they're not going to bat an eye at that.

Bonehead mistakes in my first week solo OTR

I might be the only one here to admit this but I find the LA situation a bit funny and I have to give you a huge ^5 for it. I’m sure you were called everything but a son of god but given how LA motorists behave around big trucks, they kinda deserve it lol. Don’t be too hard on yourself, simple mistakes and as was mentioned, you didn’t hit anything.

Night Shift Tips?

That’s a tough one. Obviously trying to train your body to the sleep adjustment is a big part and also one that some just can’t do. I run a lot of night shift, mostly personal choice. I generally only need 4-6 hours of sleep a night but I’ll admit that I start early, get through whatever larger city to avoid the traffic, then stop for a quick nap. This works out very well for me but it’s not necessarily going to benefit someone else. Music and podcasts also help out to pass the time and allow a distraction so you’re not so focused on what time it is but whatever else, pay attention to your body. If it tells you that you need to take a break, by all means do it.

Dealing with sciatic leg pain during long days.

I’d suggest consulting with a chiropractor who specializes in neuropathy and appropriate treatment. A 30 minute consult can determine appropriate regimen and give you the best chance at actually fixing what’s wrong. I recently had to deal with this due to military injuries to my back from 30 years ago that decided to flare back up. Now I’m back exercising and able to walk or jog a couple miles with no pain whatsoever. My pain was so bad at one point that I could hardly walk across a parking lot to take a shower.

Got a lvl 1 inspection today, went pretty okay!

Ugh, quoted the wrong part lol. Anyway, Harvest? Do you remember the procedure the officer used to determine the brakes were out of adjustment? Steve Reno brings up a point in his response that’s very interesting if the officer didn’t perform the procedure correctly.

Harvest, we were told by the company to back up the trailer and apply the brakes. Do this several times. They are self adjusting brakes.

Hopefully this is accurate advice. Can anybody confirm this?

I’m curious, what was the procedure the officer used to determine the brakes were out of adjustment? Steve Reno brought up a good point in his response and if you remember that step by step, can you post it?

How do you mean? Like release both brakes, back up a few feet and apply the brake pedal? Seems like it could possibly vary by trailer?
