I passed my pretrip back up skills and road test today!!! Want to thank you all for the wealth of knowledge provided on this forum. Now on to my new career! Applied to TMC. Sent them 5 years of w2 forms for employment verification. I am self employed. Now they want to see my corporate returns as well. Just wondering why they won't except my w2 as proof?

Can't seem to be consistent shifting on the road.
G Instructor says I'm not clutching and matching my speed to gear. I think if I don't get it in right away I panic because I don't want to be out if gear.
OS Thank you so much for the positivity! You are all so very helpful and positive and honest. I am doing my best to try and relax when I get behind the wheel and depending on the instructor I usually am. I have been with 5 different instructors. Most are very patient and relaxed and there are two older guys that are very intimidating and impatient. I do pretty well for the most part and feel pretty confident. Just think I was having a rough one today.
Rainy Thanks for the advice!!

Can't seem to be consistent shifting on the road.
Today is the beginning of my final week in school. I am scheduled to test out next Tuesday. I have been on the road for a total of 8 hours driving time. Some days I'm am decent at shifting and others I am grinding and missing and just not getting it. Seems like it's getting worse the closer I get to testing. I am super frustrated.

Errol!!!! Yes I have been "lurkin" for quite some time!! Haha!! Yes testing to gain my CDL the 19th. Pre-trip, break, and skills. There are a couple smaller local companies hiring. But I'm really interested in TMC.

Yikes!! That is not much time and unfortunate your instructor treated you that way. My advice to you is do your best to relax and stay calm. Keep that truck in gear and watch your trailer. Study your pre-trip over the weekend. I do it on my pick up and pretend it a tractor. Just go through it like you would on a tractor and trailer but in you car. Helps me that way. At any rate just breathe and do your best. Good luck!!

Hey Steve. How much practice on the road have you had? Is there another instructor that could take you out to practice? If your not confident or comfortable driving in the road they should allow you more time to practice. Are you in private school?
