Questions about Western Express.

Oh and I was also wondering if they haul any hazmat loads. If so, do they offer any assistance in getting the endorsement?

Questions about Western Express.

Hey guys, just starting to get a little worried. I agreed to go to orientation in Fontana, CA for Western Express. Now the recruiter doesn't seem to want to answer my questions. I plan on joining their dry van division. I wanted to know how much of their freight is no touch as well as drop and hook. I have a pinched nerve that would prevent me from being able to unload a truck, otherwise I would go flatbed. Also, what kind of trucks do they use? I heard Volvo, Freightliner, and International but I am not sure as well as the models they use. I assume Cascadias and ProStars, but what about the Volvos? 670? 780? I was told I could choose my truck which is why I am wondering. And is that a lie too? Seems a bit hard to believe I can choose.

Is western express a good company to work for?

Reaching out to Bryon U. and Old School as I know you 2 work for Western Express. I am just curious about their home time that they offer and what it actually looks like. I am looking for a company that I can be out 2 - 3 weeks and be home for 3. I am considering Knight because of this (or that's what the recruiter said). Does Western Express have APUs on their trucks? What about the free direct tv? How does that work? I would be dry van if that matters.

Passing the physical for the exams

Hey guys. Sorry to resurrect an old question. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the DOT regs regarding medications is the same or if it has changed. I am having a hard time finding anything online. I'm on Risperdal as well.

Prime Inc tanker division.

Hey all. I plan on going back to Prime as soon as I'm cleared by doctor and the DOT physician. I started as Reefer. I would like to try the tanker division. I have some questions though.

Is it true there is generally less of a wait time for loading/unloading?

What are the average number of miles one can expect? More or less than reefer?

What is their operating area?

Question about medication changes and medical card.

Hey everyone. I will be seeing my Dr next month and he said he may adjust my medication. It would be the same medication but a different dose. Will I be able to continue driving without problems regarding my medical card? The month later I would have to renew my physical.

Question about being a Prime TNT Trainer.

Hey all. So I am still in my own TNT phase but I was trying to figure out how the pay works for a company driver that is a trainer. My trainer has always been lease so he isn't sure. Would the company trainer be paid by the load or miles? And then does the TNT guys pay come out of the trainers pocket (like with the lease guys)?

Question about Prime Inc payroll deduction.

double-quotes-start.png

Hey all! I've been incommunicado for a while because I in the Prime training program. Got a trifecta on Tuesday, had to do a sleep study Wednesday and then a new physical Thursday. It was too late to update my medical with the DMV on Thursday so I have to wait until Monday. My instructor is helping prep someone for their test at the FM request so I can't talk to him right now. I was just wondering if the payroll deductions for the allowances and TWIC card as well as the CPAP starts during TNT or when I upgrade and go solo. Thanks for the help everyone. Stay safe out there.

They start when you start your TNT training. I did my training through Prime. At least that was the way it was back in 2011, it may have changed since then, but I don't think so.

Ernie

Thanks Ernie, I appreciate the response. Stay safe out there.
