My shaky driving record...

well I've decided to hit the open road as a long haul trucker. but im worried about my driving record. I have had only 1 (maybe 2) speeding tickets in like 7-10 years but I have had numerous suspensions for failure to pay child support. I had an injury which kept me out of work. but my DL is current now and no longer suspended. will those suspensions hurt me when being considered for hire?

No they shouldn't hurt you at all because it was a financial problem not a law breaking issue you should be fine. If it was suspended for any alcohol related offense some companies would like it to be anywhere from 3-5 years old with transam only wanting it to be a year old. Hope I helped good luck to ya 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Little nervous sounds funny??

I just landed with a company that runs paper logs and start work Wednesday they don't have any trucking GPS in there trucks but I guess I can buy one. But kinda been nervous about this whole paper log thing I would think electronic would be the way to go.

I understand cheating log books but what's the benefit of it? I want to run legit and follow any log book rules will I always be that way or will I end up cheating it? I'm assuming we all have been there any help would be appreciated thanks

Question about getting a job in the trucking industry

Be sure you get fully approved before going any where. I got a few things on my record and got pre hire letters but I would call the same company couple days later just to finalize everything and ask questions then get denied.

So pre hires to me are just a foot in the door at a school some schools require at least 2 pre hires. The only company that I ran into that will do a full background check before you even get down there was transam outta Olathe KS. Other bigger companies will say ya your good and then get to first day of training they will tell ya Denied then your making a trip back home and starting all over again.....

Hope I helped 😎😎

Will the trainers take the wheel durning training?

If your a team driver right out of the gate then that would be the only way someone would be in the back while you drive but if you have a trainer he has to sit in the passenger seat while the truck is moving as he is training you drive 11 hours side by side if he drives some or not that's what a lot of companies told me

Some one help me, new in trucking what compani is the best for otr!!

I know for sure that Schnyder sorry for the spelling they start you out at 34CPM I have a friend that drives for them he brings home about 5-700 a week home after taxes.

Another friend of mine went to Boyd brothers they are flat beds but start out at 40CPM being a vet will get you 2 more CPM. Just a lil advice but Daniel B is correct they all try to lure you in. They all have different ups and downs

What's your opinion on Volvo trucks

Adidas sweat suites lmfao...... This one is governed out at 70 so it's within the speed limit here. I've driven cascadia's before those seem to be alright as well but it was a Manuel.

All my training was in Manuels didn't really know how to react to an automatic lol...

Newer automatic I drove it for maybe an hour. How does everyone else think about these trucks are they the Cadillac of trucks?
