What would you do?

We just went over Elk Mountain, just now. And they're taking good care of the roads. Sand trucks and we are light and not blowi g around. Back at Laramie, inch of snow, then clear skies. And roads.

Ice On I-80 In Nebraska

I-80 Nebraska going west (i thank the guy who slowed us all down) the road changed to a sheet of ice. We pulled over on exit 179 to wait it out and almost didnt stop at the stop sign. Whoa! Looking at google maps, its frozen to Ogallala. Then theres an accident too. Probably the guy who didnt see 6 trucks going 45mph. Or maybe he thought he could handle it. He cruised by us all at like 60mph. Be safe out there.

Decisions Decisions (Prime v Swift)

Swift has no pet policy. Found out that means no policy. Not no pets. After you're solo its smart to wait a while before bringing on any distractions. Thats my policy. Prime has a $1000 deposit for pets I think.

Swift pay advance?

If you have a phone where you can download trucker path (free at google play store), click on the walmart icon and they tell you where they are and if you can park an 18 wheeler in there. Some allow overnite parking.

Trucking is Tough

You'll be hot with a bigger, yes, paycheck too. But in short, this website, TT, is where you'll get REAL, TRUTHFUL answers to any thing you need. No garbage from the peanut gallery as I call it. Old School said it for real. Don't get sucked up into the negatives. Common sense, hard work. It's all here, any question answered, when you need it. Just ask.

From Teaching to Trucking - My Journey So Far

Ditto on the good mojo coming your way. And write. I believe you were born to write. It's comfortable and interesting. I'm talking books, little fictions novels of traveling and blah blah blah. You know what I mean. Good luck, hang in there.

I might be done with truck driving

And thanks for coming back and explaining all this. What I don't know scares me. If you lay it all out I can't fear it anymore. I will be in the same situation one day and if I see you (anyone) make it to the "other side", that makes me stronger. I need you to keep going and beat the odds. Thousands do, we can too.

Wind

18 wheelers vs wind. You tube has a couple of videos. Not a pretty sight.
