"Safety" Equipment Almost Caused A Wreck
I drive a 19 volvo and my truck will pick up vehicles on curves, but I override it with keeping the foot on the throttle. G-Town has a point maybe over time it will become less sensitive and adapt.

Good job, glad you made it out okay. Thankfully I have never had that happen. I bet when it does it will make my gut check.
Glad to hear you did the right thing and trusted training and experience to avoid the gut jerk reaction of slamming on the brakes. I am from Iowa and have driven in super storms and snow and ice storms.

Would like some advice please from everyone
You are absolutely right. No doubt I hate starting over somewhere, I have made that mistake in the past. I told a recruiter where I work that I was only looking into insurance plans and then a company errantly sent in a verification when it was a no contact, I wasn’t really looking to leave I just wanted some insight into other peoples plans that had a comparison in employee size to bring to the attention of my current employer and bam, it got things taken care of
I applied at 2 companies and one sent in a verification, that was actually a blessing in disguise because the company I work for offered to help offset the insurance cost to bring it down to a more affordable number for my family. So I agreed and the company also agreed to look into changing plans up to make it more affordable for all 125 drivers. Sometimes all it takes is open dialogue. They really wanted to keep me it looks like.
Jason that’s fantastic.
I hope your post will prompt other drivers to try their absolute best to work things out with their current employer before jumping ship. Just think of all the aggravation you just saved yourself.
Safe travels.

This was my week, left from Yuma, Az after my 34 on Sunday 7/15/18 delivered in Dubuque, Ia on 7/17/18 at 0830 then dead headed home to Davenport, Ia took 22hrs at home with the family, then picked up on 7/18/18 @ 10:30 delivered today 10/20/18 at 2:00pm in Lathrop, Ca. Picked up in Modesto, Ca then bounced to the J in Ripon, Ca for my 34. Delivers in Carlisle, Pa on Thursday morning however I have already been told that if I get there Wednesday they will unload me.

New OTR driver with low mileage loads
If you look at it this way, if you can manage 7 300 mile loads per week thats 2100, and it will usually set you up for a longer one. I have done 2 135 mile loads in one day just to get to the 1400 mile load. I don’t turn down anything and if they ask me to shag stuff for busy work I say no problem.
Being friendly and polite to your Driver Manager, Fleet Manager, will go a long ways in this industry. The old addage is “Catch more bees with honey”. It can be pretty typical if you are with a smaller company as short loads usually pay the company pretty well.
I am just up the road from susan and we do a lot of John Deere, so some of there loads are only 133 miles just to go pick up another. Eventually get to the better one.

How I Was Hyper Productive This Week By Knowing The Log Book Rules
Very nice example of how to maximize your clock, that is great planning and improvising on the fly.
