Picked up in Modesto, Ca then bounced to the J in Ripon, Ca for my 34. Is it common for trucks to have this cool feature where it calculates all your time and lets you know what you have left? That looks great!

Yep! But it’s frustrating at the same time. You wanna go, but the shipper doesn’t care about your clock. :)

It is a great help.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

He also had an HOS violation, so I wouldn't say to do it that way at all.

I thought maybe I was reading that wrong, since the only Qualcomm I have seen was in a box and the size of a laptop.

Looks like he is an hour over his 14.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Got to emember, you can stay on duty forever, even past your 14, just got to take a 10 in sleeper or off duty before driving again. Although that isn’t what it looks like this guy did.

It's been a long day, I'm tired and maybe I'm just missing it. But where is the violation?

Is it the 12h 19m drive time? He can technically drive 14 hrs in a 24hr day as long as he gets in his 10 hr break.
