Hazmat and tankers endorsement
I'm about to start studying for the tankers endorsement and on the highroad training it is saying that I have to go back and study sections 2, 5, and 6... I've been out of school since March so I'm wondering if I really need to go back and study that or just studying the tankers portion of this training course on here will that be enough to pass

Hazmat and tankers endorsement
Good evening everyone, I live here in Atlanta Georgia and I recently submitted over my background investigation for TSA... I was wondering if anyone knew if I could go ahead and take the Hazmat test or do I have to wait for the completion of the Hazmat TSA background... also does anyone know how many test questions are on the HazMat and tankers endorsement and are those test pretty hard... I don't plan on studying the Georgia CDL manual I prefer to use this site due to the fact that this is all I studied when I received my class a permit and scored perfectly

He was actually in orientation phase
Yes
My cousin is from Georgia and is now incarcerated in Killeen Texas in jail for a class A misdemeanor. The charge is assault with a bodily injury to a family member. Will this take away his CDL and if not will be be able to drive tractor trailers again.
Probably won't take away his license - unless he used a motor vehicle to commit the assault.
So he will probably not LOSE his CDL. But he's going to have a more difficult time getting a job with a trucking company due to the recent charge.
Was he ALREADY EMPLOYED as a driver when he got pinched?
Rick
A lot will depend on how/if his truck got back to the company he was working for at the time.
If he parked it - got into his beef - got locked up - and the company had to come and retrieve the truck, he may also have an "abandoned equipment" on his record - which, while "somewhat explainable" (I got locked up) - is another one of the blackest marks you can have on your record as a driver.

What does verifiable tractor trailer experience mean?
R&L Carriers delivered paper supplies weekly to my former employer. I spoke with the driver frequently (as I was the guy placing & receiving the orders) & I was interested in Truck Driving.
He said he was home every night & off weekend's. His "physical labor" involved moving a small shrink-wrapped pallet off of the truck using a floor Jack, wheeling it inside the building (the trucks have power lifts) & getting my signature. Took less than 5 minutes.
Our conversations were typically longer than his laborous activities.
Do you think a local company like them would consider my local delivery experience?

Okay, if you are looking into other local type jobs, then yes I think it would be considered tractor trailer experience. My concern would be that if you are starting out local and then wanting to go Over The Road, I think you are going to find that a lot of companies would not consider what you've done as experience.
Keep in mind that most of your local type trucking jobs usually involve a good bit of physical work, that is hard to get around in a local truck driving job.
Yes sir, I really don't mind the physical labor honestly, I just want to know that I could go to other companies such as LTL companies and others that deliver within a certain area but come home each and every night... when I look online a lot of the times it makes it look as if when you only have done local work you won't be able to find other jobs in the local trucking industry... had me sort of spooked but you just made me feel a lot better about it knowing that I could still get other local jobs...

I'll be trying to find work with less physical activity involved...would that be considered verifiable tractor trailer experience due to me only having local experience?I think you might as well just be prepared to have to take a refresher course if you are planning on starting out with a local beer distributor and then moving into an over the road job. You didn't really specify what type of job you want to move into except that you wanted it to have less physical activity. Since most local jobs require a good deal of physical activity, I am assuming you intend going into an over the road or regional type position. As far as what most companies consider verifiable experience, I do not think they would consider that job as experience. I realize that some of them are specifying "tractor/trailer" experience, but for the most part they want to see "over the road" experience. Until someone develops a standardized definition of what "tractor/trailer" experience is, If I were in your position, I would still be prepared to take a refresher course and expect to go out with a trainer for a brief time for most OTR trucking jobs. I think the best place to ask this question would be a recruiter at a company that specifies it this way.
Man I really appreciate you for coming in and helping me out on this Old School... not considering any Regional or over-the-road opportunities once I get experience locally delivering beer... I just thought maybe there were other local opportunities without less physical labor... but you say that this would not be considered experience as a tractor trailer driver sir?
