My cousin is from Georgia and is now incarcerated in Killeen Texas in jail for a class A misdemeanor. The charge is assault with a bodily injury to a family member. Will this take away his CDL and if not will be be able to drive tractor trailers again.
Probably won't take away his license - unless he used a motor vehicle to commit the assault.
So he will probably not LOSE his CDL. But he's going to have a more difficult time getting a job with a trucking company due to the recent charge.
Was he ALREADY EMPLOYED as a driver when he got pinched?

A lot will depend on how/if his truck got back to the company he was working for at the time.
If he parked it - got into his beef - got locked up - and the company had to come and retrieve the truck, he may also have an "abandoned equipment" on his record - which, while "somewhat explainable" (I got locked up) - is another one of the blackest marks you can have on your record as a driver.

Well I would assume his chances of keeping his current job is pretty well shot. His best bet would be to just fire off as many apps as he can when he gets out and hope someone picks him up.
