Company physical

Ok I have to retake my DOT physical and then hopefully If I pass that try and get a trucking job which means another physical I hate taking physicals and find them stressful because failing it means you cant make a living my question is when you take a company physical is it a one time thing or is it every year or two like a DOT physical also in my case where I need to retake my DOT exam why would a company send me for another one when I just recently passed the DOT exam?? Is the company exam easier or harder then the DOT exam

Physical

Yea I am starting to think it might be something as simple as cutting sodium out of my diet I noticed alot of foods i eat have quite a bit of sodium I lost about 15 lbs and went for a checkup and my BP was 140 over 100 I figured with the weight loss mt BP would be good but I know I wont pass a physical so I need to find out if it was because I was nervous or that my pressure is high and then make some adjustments but the stress of passing a pyhsical every year will drive me insane

Physical

I was wondering the same thing my anxiety level has been through the roof lately and I do get nervous when I go to the doctor or when i take a physical. Last year I was so nervous when I took my DOT physical my blood pressure was so high she was only going to give it to me for three months but she retook it a few more times and even waited a while to retake it each time my BP dropped as I got lesss nervous and she finally got it low enough to give it to.me for a year now. I need to renew it and I havemajor anxiety plus. I know i have to take a second physical too

Physical

I take blood pressure pills and today I had a doctor's appointment my blood pressure was high not dangerously high but high enough to have issues passing the physical. It was 140 over 100 and I assume i would either get only 3 months or they would fail me. My doctor wasnt concerned he chalked it up to stress and needing to cut sodium out of my diet my question is would I pass a physical or do I need to think about asking the doctor to give me a higher dosage?? I don't exactly eat right so maybe I could stand to change my diet. I know you guys aren't doctors but I would appreciate any help here. I have to assume I'm not the only one that has slightly high blood pressure

License status

Ok I'm kinda curious how often does a trucking company check the status of your license after you are hired? Do they check once during orientation and that's it or do they constantly check for tickets and accidents?? I recently had an accident and was told it takes about a month before it shows on my record not sure if they meant DMV or Insurance record. If it does take a month or so and I go to orientation and not say anything and I get hired then they see it 3 or 4 months later I assume I would then be fired fir lying to them??

Orientation questions

I have my CDL license but my physical expired so I have to renew it to get my CDL restored I'm not worried about failing a drug test my main concern is the physical I have a bad astigmatism and always have trouble reading an eye chart plus I'm deaf in my left ear even though I passed the force whisper test when I went for my first medical I always worry in the back of my mind about having trouble passing the physical plus I have to take 2 one for the DOT then another one when I go to orientation

Orientation questions

I have a few questions about going to orientation every company I spoke to has offered to send me a bus ticket and pay for a place to stay while going through the orientation process. I prefer to drive rather then take a bus and all have said I can drive and they will reimburse me up to the price of the ticket. My question is what happens if you go to orientation and for some reason you fail a physical and they don't hire you? Do they pay for you to get home or are you on your own? Would a bus ticket only be a one way and you have to find your own way home?? What about the money they spent to put you in a hotel?? Do you end up paying them back? Also I have been told If I do drive and get hired then I would be on the road right after orientation and take the truck home with me,. How would I get to my car? I also have no place to park a tractor trailer by my house so why wouldn't I be able to leave the truck at the nearest terminal and drive myself home and drive back to get my truck?

Foolish mistakes

As far as I know there is no fee to reinstate my CDL when I went to the DMV all they said was to retake the physical and bring in my birth certificate with a utility bill as proof of residence. If there is reinstatement fee and hell I live in NYC so there might well be one then I will just have to pay the extra money since it was my fault I let it expire anyway.

Foolish mistakes

That's what I get for assuming and yea I should have known you had to take a break at some point during those 11 hours. So in reality you would be working 11 hours and 30 minutes a day with an extra 3 hours allowed for loading and unloading?? I don't want to assume again lol Thank You all for the help I just hope this accident won't prevent me from getting a job

Foolish mistakes

Ok stupid question but how often am I going to be able to stop at walmart when I'm always on the road and probably have to make a deadline so I may not have the time to stop and get a prescription refilled. I am aware that you can only drive 11 hours a day and work up to 70 hours a week before you have to take a 34 hour reset which I think is ridiculous but that's another story. I just assume I have to drive 11 hours straight and then stop at a truckstop until the next day
