So I started class last week, never been in a tractor/trailer before other than a rider twice, I got consistently yelled at about double shifting and not getting the gears. All the while, the trainer was texting and messaging on facebook and barely lifted his head from it. This week I got a different trainer and he made more sense to me, however as I went out on the road yesterday and today, I forgot everything they were telling me or if I remembered, it wasn't good enough or fast enough. This is only my 6th day in the tractor, but today I was given until Friday to get it together... Help!?!

I got my permit and school starts May 2nd! I have to admit, the tests on this site is exactly like the Iowa tests. I used three other cdl testing sites and none of them were even close to what Iowa DOT asks. Trucking Truth to the rescue! Thank you Brett for this site and does anyone have a suggestion for what Company to go with here are the companies Kirkwood Community College works with for a job after completion. I also have a teacup Chihuahua named Fluffy who weighs maybe 1 lb.

Lot's of jobs in my past because I couldn't find the right fit
Jacinda, there are several reasons someone may job hop. You don't provide more information about who and why.
I could see the kind of work that comes in several short gigs, or that you are looking for a good career "fit". Just don't explain the many jobs by saying you were treated unfairly in most of the situations.
Thanks Errol, it was due to trying to please other people which I've done a lot. Recently however, I realize I need to be my own advocate and go for it what ever that is!

How many questions are on the cdl permit test?
FYI in Iowa it is for 2016 $12 for the permit which you have to have for a total of 14 business days before you can get your CDL. The cost of the CDL is $8 again that is in Iowa not Idaho. :-)

Will this fact be a deterrent to hiring companies? I have a long list of previous jobs in different career's. I have a clean driving history and have driven in Chicago for 7 years with no accidents or any violations. I love to drive and am good at it. But my vocational rehabilitation person asked me if I'm really going to stick with this because I'm getting a grant to go to CDL school and it's a lot of money to be receiving to change my mind half way in.
