Accepted By Roehl Transport!!

Hi Truckers, I just got a call from Kim to start on monday the 10th of June and I'm so ready to start my career as a truck driver.I have been thinking about driving a truck since 5yrs ago and i actually got into it 2weeks ago i initially picked prime inc to start with but after reading and doing more research, i ended up with Roehl Transportation.I'm very new to the trucking industry so i will appreciate any advice i can get and yes i do know that a great attitude and willingness to do nothing but your best is a great way to start.I will be leaving PA Saturday to get to the hotel on sunday by 2pm or 3.Let me throw this in if anybody needs a ride from the hotel to the school, just let me know no smokers please lol.I will do my best to update everybody on my progress at Roehl starting on monday. Thanks to Brett and his crew for this great website loaded with tons and tons of info.keep up the good work sir!

Shifting Gears.

I just have a quick question and anybody can chime in.Why is it that the CDL manual tells you to hold the steering with both hands like(9-3)but that seem impossible if you're driving a manual i have been watching how to shift gears on tractor trailers on youtube and no one seem to hold the steering with BOTH HANDS just felt like sharing this with everyone.By the way just got my orientation letter today from Prime Inc and I'm soo ready to start .goodnight everybody and don't forget to pray for the victims in Oklahoma. Thanks everybody.

Newbie Heading to......

Hi Brett, I thank you very much for the great advice i will definitely follow everything you recommended in your reply, that was great brother.I did get my learners permit last week so that's out of the way i also went on the cdc website(center for disease control)to check my BMI i'm 6'1 and i weigh around 216 with my clothes on according to them my BMI is 28.5 and I'm overweight but i guess this is good enough to get through Prime Inc.I have been doing some cardio workouts hopefully by the time i arrive there i will weigh less than 216.Personally I'm in a good health no problems with my blood pressure,i do not use drugs, the only thing i take is the glucosamine chondroitin for the joints in my body because i do lots of cardio workouts by the way i just turned the big 50.Again i thank you for the advice have a blessed day.
