Swift Orientation Monday

As far as I know, no hands free devices allowed during training. I was driving team pretty much from day 2 but that isn't the norm. I was also driving pretty much 8 to 10 hrs a day from day 1. I switched trainers after the first week and still finished 200 hrs in 4 weeks and 3 to 4 days.

I've been under several 13 / 6 overpasses, I usually just slow down to around 15 mph and close my eyes. LOL!

And so it begins......

It was 28 degrees in mid July the last time I went through Vail Colorado. LOL!

Swift dry van vs. reefer

Aaaannnnd, right now I'm in Nashville TN. Deadheaded 200 miles to Brundidge AL and straight back up to Nashville for something like 535 miles today. It's kind of the long way around from Atlanta but it all pays the same. LOL!

There were also no empties at the last two WM DCs I have dropped at. The first one they had me running to 4 different locations before I finally found an mt trailer.

I had to give up the load because I was now exactly 660 miles out and they were only giving me one shift to deliver it. LOL!

I was really hoping they'd run me around the mid west for a while before winter gets here. Nope, pick up a load this afternoon and I'm headed for Louisiana. LOL!

Just wondering where all you've been sent since posting this, Terminal Rat. Really liked mapping it out on google maps.

OK I had to think about it. Louisiana got cancelled so I deadhead ed over to Tulsa OK. From Tulsa up to Chicago then ran a couple local loads. From Illinois out to Detroit MI. Then down to Orlando FL, up to Pageland SC. After that DH to Charlotte NC to Atlanta GA. Now I'm sitting in Decatur GA waiting on my truck to be inspected. I think that's about right. LOL!

Why Can't All DCs Be Like This

You went in at night but there are some absolutely beautiful farms and countryside up there.

There's also a biker bar in down town Beaver Dam called the "Thirsty Beaver". I didn't have time to check in out but I might the next time I roll through, looks like an interesting place. LOL!

Geez, I didn't think it could be worse than you described but this is even worse then Jurupa Valley before they cleaned it up. LOL! Any place I could put my trailer is already blocked by other trailers. I did finally get lucky and find a spot out front though, somebody must have just pulled out. LOL

FYI, Gary is just as bad. I was wondering what was going on. I went to bed and somebody parked two rows of trailers in the Isle right across from the loaded drivers so nobody could get out until the yard guys showed up. LOL!

I should be there by 1200 baring traffic. I've got a pre-planned tcall that's only going to Memphis, I wish they would just let me take it all the way. LOL!

Haven't been here yet, what can I expect? I need a 90 inspection. How is the shop? Are there any food options or should I stop at Walmart on my way in.

Thanks, JJ
