Actually Schneider National does not have their own company-sponsored program. They will do tuition reimbursement but that requires you to pay the tuition up front to one of their approved private schools. The others do indeed have company-sponsored training programs.
Here is a list of company-sponsored programs:
Paid CDL Training Programs
Brett, Schneider does sponsor you to go to certain schools. Since I live 150 miles from the one terminal, they pay for training. At least that's what both recruiters told me and what I was told during interview process

As far as my options go, Millis, Schneider and Swift. Mainly those three have paid schooling. Schneider has three terminals within 65 miles of me. Millis has a terminal near Cincinnati and I would be regional if I move to Columbus. Those are the only ones I've found. I have been thinking of just paying for my schooling and then sign on but still discussing that with the Wife-to-be

So I had an interview with Schneider the other day. They told me starting pay would be .39/mile dedicated run with slip seat. Now, that's all nice but the terminal they want to put me at is 1.5 hours away of my current location and soon to be new location. Since I'm getting married I explained I cannot do anything until August. They was ok with that but would it be ok to "demand" either a closer terminal that's already short staffed (I only know because they only have 3-5 local drivers running non stop and Schneider contracts out for help) or demand regional or something that lets me take the rig home. Between drive time and commute that's not going to give me a lot of rest. Any tips would help

I was looking at getting some sort of experience. When it comes to my work ethic I tend to be more about results. Probably the reason I've been promoted in the two years I've been where I work. Just want to get any edge I can.

He owns his rig and runs for a company. They said they never had someone ask for a rider. He said they could show it as possibly training? From what it sounds like they aren't a good outfit lol

He owns his own rig and has his own insurance. Only way I figured this out is because he asked about riders and they were like we don't have a policy and he said he didn't see an issue as long as they didn't

Hey, I have a friend who is an O/O and was wondering if I would be allowed to practice driving his rig. He said I could but didn't know if it would be wise. Any ideas?

Well, I currently am a bi-vocational minister and I know about 5 other ministers in my area that drive truck. Some local some regional and I think one or two OTR. Factory work is all I've done my hole life except a couple office jobs. And my future bride wants to be a stay at home mom and at the pace my current employer is going I would be lucky to see 40 hours a week in the next month and if they keep it open another few years.

Help me wrap my head around the decision to become a truck driver
Well I know where you at. I am 25 and about to get married. The job I am at just laid off 16 and more are coming including me due to tenure. I've had quite a bit of accomplishments since I started where I am at. For example, a promotion, met the CEO and discuss career path within the company, numerous upper management. Granted I flew 8 hours away on my own done for such but regardless. I also am a minister. I looked at trucking as a lifestyle that isn't best for ministers or newlyweds. But since the shop got super slow I looked into it more. I know my deacon drove region and sometimes OTR and he retired from it. I know a minister in my conference is an O/O driving regional, there was mother minister who got laid off and drove. And I know three others who pastor and are local jobs. Taking the jump was def something I was fearful of. I would leave my church for one service a week and miss another church service at a church I help at, but in the end I have to look at my future. And as it stands there's always a demand for drivers. And to me that's security. Even my fiancé said what can I lose and go for it. If it's going to provide for us then by all means try it. Do your research and I'm sure you will find something.
