Hi everyone and thanks for all the info and advice. Very helpful and enlightening. I'll continue to do what I've been doing and drive my taters through there at my own comfort level. There's other lanes for the drivers of the rally trucks. And I agree that the I-40 gorge is much less of a hassle than the WV Turnpike also! I am NOT going to be the guy that makes 47,000 lbs of mashed potatoes on I-77.

Here's the situation. I run I-77 through West VA on nearly every trip. Usually loaded to nearly max weight both gross and on all axles. The loads are loose potatoes about 4 or 5 feet high front to rear in the trailer. By no means top heavy. My tractor is a 2016 Freightliner Columbia glider kit, trailers are a mixed bag of makes, all reefer units. Super singles on tractor and all trailers. I find myself leaning very uncomfortably to either side on the curves on this route at anywhere near the speed limit. Other trucks are passing me like I'm standing still on nearly every curve. And there are only 14 feet of straight roads in West Virginia. Am I being overly cautious? Should I expect a certain amount of lean into a curve and then for the truck to settle in? This is something I was never taught to expect. Looking in the mirror I am not observing the trailer leaning as if it is trying to overturn. Hopefully some of you can offer a little insight from my Reader's Digest version here. Thanks!

Just a little side note / news - I just parked at the Kenly 95 tonight. The new building they are working on is due to be complete in about 6 weeks. It will be a showroom very similar to the one at Iowa 80 complete with a couple of sexy show trucks with all the chrome and lights, a workout room, and other amenities.

Live unload of car tires. Uggh!
I feel your pain. In my younger days I was Service Manager for the Big 10 tire store in Newnan GA. Had to assist unloading the tire truck in the sultry West Georgia summer sun every week. Easily lost 90% of my body fluid through sweating.

2016 Freightliner Columbia Glider Kit, midroof, Detroit Series 60 dual fuel engine. Had to have both steer tires replaced a couple nights ago. Developed a violent vibration anywhere above 64mph. Left side showed 18 ozs out of balance. Runnin' smooth now!

Any one that has parking spots when I get there late! But seriously... Kenley 95 in Kenley NC is an Iowa 80 franchise and is nicer than most.
The southernmost of the 2 TA's on 95 north of Richmond VA usually always has spots open.
The Detroiter on 75 in Woodhaven MI has an IHOP and sells used books. Pay to park but it's the best thing around.
Iowa 80 is awesome
Love's in Ellis KS on 70 has a good Mexican restaurant across the street and overflow parking next to the hotel across the corner.
TA in Breezewood PA is large and clean.
When I think of more I'll let you know!

So Long Prime, Hello WW Transport
Old Roadie I know we are messin' with you a bit here, all in fun, but seriously be careful with all that unbridled horsepower. It's a different ball game ungoverned. Things can unravel a whole lot faster at 70, then they can at 60. I know you know this, but felt compelled to say it.
Best wishes for continued success and safe travels.
Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes and the giggles. I actually still spend most of my time in the right lane while supertruckers fly past at 80 plus. That's cool... They can find those speed traps for me. And since potato loads are usually maxed out, I need the extra horses and gears to drag myself uphill at 79,000+ gross weight. Now all you Prime folks.... I'll wave as I pass you!

Best breed of dog for Truckers
My Husky/Shepherd mix has tagged along with me before. In my opinion it really boils down to your relationship with your pet and personal preferences. I have seen just about every imaginable breed of dog looking out the window of a truck.
