Greetings all...thought I'd throw this out there and see what gets stirred up... Anyone have a preference toward or knowledge of specific breeds of dogs that are better suited to the trucking lifestyle? Obviously a hyper dog in a cab would not be the best choice. I know a lot of people prefer Chihuahuas for their size and temperament. Any other suggestions? Or do you prefer a car over a dog? If so, why? Thanks...God bless and God Speed!

I thought about it. My friend had an adorable ****zu he trained to go in a kitty litter box which made things much easier. Dogs are a lot more work than cats. You can't just leave the dog in the truck and hang out for the day...he needs to go out. I leave my cat in truck during home time. He's happy.

I know a guy with two great Danes who sleep on the bottom bunk and he sleeps on the top. To each his own. Research the breeds. Some dogs need exercise and running or they will chew everything up.

Primes policy is one pet thirty pound limit.

My Husky/Shepherd mix has tagged along with me before. In my opinion it really boils down to your relationship with your pet and personal preferences. I have seen just about every imaginable breed of dog looking out the window of a truck.

I know for a fact my German Shepherd Nova would have loved trucking, trucks and truckers. Sadly she is looking down on all of us from the rainbow bridge. Would I recommend a GS dog for anyone else? Probably not.

Mine s a cross of a blue heeler and a corgi. Imagine a corgi with heeler colors and the look is close.

I had this little guy on the truck with me from 2009 till 2013 when I changed companies. 20 lbs Jack Russel/Boston Terrier.
