Swifts notorious Jurupa Valley terminal. I've been scheduled for Sim classes since 11/02 but have been running all over the country and we are severely overbooked so they need all the drivers they can get. Finally caught me in San Diego and I needed a reset anyway so my DM hauled me in. They sent me a run to Colorado so I accepted it. Now I'm on restriction until tomorrow when I finish the classes. LOL!

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I am shutting down in either Heyburn, ID or Snowville, UT depending on how soon I get out of this shipper.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Pilot/Road Ranger south of Beloit WI. Headed into Chicago tomorrow to drop a trlr and get a load headed to the caves in Sprimo. Why in the world would a shipper schedule a load for 1430 in Chicago?
