Team driving nightmares

Hahaha the one I have is dlivering in San Diego ca and I got my truck stuck between to box trucks on those little streets

Keep an eye on those dreams. If these start to get out of hand, talk with somebody with a title.

The only two bad ones I had were I was actually back team driving, and in the other one, I was driving a day cab!

That’s to bad that happened Bro !! One of my little brothers a gay man!! And I sent him this post and asked him how he felt about it and if I would last with a gay trainer and he about died laughing if your not comfortable with something it gonna affect your training and asking for a new trainer doesn’t have to be a firing offense I needed someone just as rough and tumble as myself to get anything in my heAd learning wise and I got 1 they usaully ask you before you head out with a trainer any way

For what it’s worth, this is a very personal issue for me, because I have LGBTQ in family, one of whom is female-presenting and was beaten within an inch of his life and hospitalized. I’m not offended just for the sake of being offended.

Arguing over gas prices and who is worse, Trump or Biden, because of commodity taxes and regulation, etc., has a place here on this forum because it directly affects every truck drivers’ income and day to day life.

Coming in here and impugning an entire class of people as “absolutely disgusting” is unacceptable and has no place on this forum.

Well said and glad you chimed in I was at a loss for the right words

Technically any sort of "annoying behavior" can constitute as harassment. The daisy duke shorts can be sexual harassment. And yes it is a hostile work environment. It is how the person perceives things and your perception is that you are being annoyed/harassed and made uncomfortable.

If you want to change trainers, tell them you feel uncomfortable with the sexualized attire and flirting. As a woman I make it a point not to show cleavage _(although I have a lot of it) and other things that could entice. If a honest loyal married guy was around my exposed breasts 24/7 wouldnt that make him uncomfortable? Probably.

What if you were gay? Wouldn't that be tempting? And honestly no one knows if you are or not.

Understand though that all complaints stay in a trainers permanent record. Should this be on his record?

Change trainers and concentrate on your training. You can even use his demeanor as a distraction from learning.

Hey guys, I’m going to ask for advice and be as respectful as I can. I’ve been a long time lurker and really enjoy this site and the advice you all give. I’m working for a major carrier (would prefer not to say who) and on my trainers truck. My trainer is 34 and has been driving for 5 years. The issue I’m having is he is gay, very flamboyant, and very emotional. He wears makeup, wears very short shorts on the truck, sometimes wears halter tops, etc. Several times he has flirted with truckers over the CB calling them honey, baby, cutie, etc. Its driving me absolutely crazy! I’m just very uncomfortable with this situation. He’s been a pretty good trainer but I don’t want to be around this for 30-45 days. I was raised with values that don’t support/agree with his lifestyle and I don’t want to be living with him in a box for this long. I understand I will have to deal with people I don’t agree with in this industry and that is just fine, but there’s a difference between dealing with people and temporarily living with them. Instead of being PC, please think about what you would do if you were in this situation and let me know. Thanks

If the company had asked if you would you be comfortable living with a female trainer what would you have said?

I see no difference.

Finished school taking first 5 day trip... what to bring?

Sweat suit flip flops gold chain blue parrot

double-quotes-start.png

Sandals, black socks, pajama bottoms or track suit pants, an Adidas jacket, dingy, stained wife beater shirt, large fake gold necklace, gold framed mirrored sunglasses. #1 item is a tablet or cell phone running 19 hours a day.

If you're going to be in a white Volvo pulling a reefer, all the above are required.

double-quotes-end.png

Bwahhahaha and your truck must have Volvo written in 18 inch letters in at least 2 places.

But seriously, flip flops unless you're comfortable standing barefoot in the showers...I am not.

Drivers pay

As much as that statement is gonna irk some people on here I agree 100 sure they’re trusting you with the nice equipment and there loads but as long as you get it there safe and on time he’ll yes they owe you!! That’s how I feel and I base my pay on my work ethic there’s an old saying ... you get what you pay for.... it goes both ways look a man / woman in the eye and say I expect you to run 4 weeks or more and then only pay them 2400 $$ and say well there’s a driver shortage lol duh!!

Hello all. It has been a long time since I last checked in or posted here. As the title says driver pay is very stagnant. It really hasn't gone up since about the mid 1970's. I have been looking for a new company to drive for. I am sick or companies saying that they offer industry leading pay. Then only want to pay you .40 cents a mile. That's an insult to the driver. My first driving job started at .48 cpm. We the driver's are the ones that sacrifice everything for this job. Now I know we all have to start somewhere. But once you get some experience. Please do not settle for a mere pentance when you can make more money and have a life also.

New ride who dis?

Congrats brother well deserved

They pulled me out of my 2017 freight liner and put me in a 2021 with 31,000 on it. From what I understand, my truck is already sold! Besides for a few stray dog hairs it’s clean on the inside. And the inverter will be appreciated! Tired of eating like a caveman lol
