Amen to this and an example as to why the Presidential election results were not so surprising to some of us. Thanks for the info on what it is like from a trucker point of view.
Yeah....Kalifornia is its own Communist dictatorship. Use whatever bathroom you want, smoke all of the weed you want. But........ Don't you dare to use water to grow crops that feed the WORLD, and whatever you do, never ever use a plastic bag. Oh....by the way..... you're going to buy $300.00 worth of groceries at my store......pay me a Quarter to use the cart........and bring your own germ infested petri dish canvas bags that have been incubating God knows what in the trunk of your car in the 100 degree heat for the past several weeks. The sooner it snaps off of the Continent and floats out to sea the better!

Is TMC selective or will they hire most anyone?
That doesn't make me feel good. Wow
So I might get down there and sent home?
Haha! They are selective!
They rejected me all three times I tried to get on with them.

Just curious about the reputation of my new company and any opinions and or feedback about them from you experienced truckers would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Turtle how often to you get to see that good boy over your right shoulder? I love dogs and I have a feeling that he is a good one. What's his name?
Yes, welcome Sharron!
As someone who spent the better part of the last year reading and researching various trucking sites, I can honestly say TT is by far the best, most informative, honest, and unbiased trucking site out there.
You will find everyone to be extremely helpful. Painfully honest also, even when it may not be what you want to hear. Believe me when I say we all have your best interest at heart. Good luck!

I completed step 1 and have an invitation to company sponsored training! YES!
Thanks old school. Being home every weekend is enough for me. I value your advice and respect the fact that you respond to us new guys. They had me convinced but would you still choose mileage if it is .26?

I just question are there no TMC drivers on this site, or is TMC bull****ting its newhires that 90% of their employees choose that pay option? I am leaving a 20 year career in telecommunications and am worried about making an early choice that I will regret later. Thanks for all of you that responded.
Dan, I think your getting the "crickets" response because percentage pay is mostly used by owner operators. This Web site is focused on me company drivers, who will probably paid on a mileage basis.
You could try OOIDA, the owner operator association.

I am so excited.
My question is this, do any of you have experience with percentage pay vs mileage pay? Any comments would be appreciated.

That I-80 video that was posted from Wyoming really shook me up.
In a third video from a different angle, the camera guy says "this road is solid ice. What were these truckers doing out here?"
Uh what was anyone doing out there car or truck? I'm parking in ice. Screw that
I questioned the same thing but I know that here in the mountains of WV you may be driving on wet roads and just as you top a mountain you instantly enter a winter wonderland. I don't know if that is what happened here but I know that it is possible especially considering the elevation in Wyoming. Thank God that more weren't killed.

I have so much to learn. I know I could Google but would rather it hear it from one of you guys....
I am going to try my luck with TMC as an inexperienced driver. Assuming I get thru training and get my own truck, what I understand is I can work 14 hours per day strapping, tarping, driving, and my weekends home make this 70 hour rule a non factor. Is that bad info or me misunderstanding the laws?
