Screwed up big time, think I'm done (reefer temp wrong)

Yeah it was my bad but I've gotten loads with no temp and bills just say protect from heat and cold, then it turns into a 4 hour wait well the company verifies this is true.

Well looks like I learned an important lesson

Ok, Werner. If I could I would hit you in the head with a soft baseball bat. But I can't, so I'm just going to yell at you instead.

Usually, not always, when they put a mark next to the product on the BoL they're making a note that the product is there. So if I'm looking over a load and I see 40 boxes of cereal product #12345 I will put a mark next to it so I know I counted it.

I probably wouldn't say anything and if they confronted me I would just play stupid. But I think you'll get away with this one only because its Beer. They only want it temperature controlled so that the beer wont be 100 degrees. They dont need it ice cold, though they prefer it.

Pray that the receiver is lazy and the dock workers dont care about their job to notice. But I would bet you'll be fine. Just try to keep it to yourself and dont give them a reason to lool at you.

Now as for the yelling part. You really, really cannot let this happen again. If you're not 110% sure about the reefer temp then do not leave the shipper until you get that required temperature with a signature of the shipping clerk. Always read everything. Must not let this happen ever again. Seriously, if this was anything but beer you would be a goner.

Agree with Daniel 100%. Read everything, front and back. If you are running reefer, 99% of the time you will be put-on a load requiring a controlled temperature.

Screwed up big time, think I'm done (reefer temp wrong)

Looked at the bill of lading and saw protect from heat and cold with no temp listed. When scanning in paper work I noticed they had said to set temp to 36 at the bottom.

The receiver put minus marks next to all the items on bol and signed it, they also took all the freight.

So did no one notice ? Did Jesus bless me this once? Or do the minus marks mean refused/damaged.

I assume the minus marks mean refused/damaged and sent actually check marks.

Should I snitch on myself and call my manager ? Should I hang tight and hope for the best?

The question is, was it refer ever on? Was it atleast in the low 40s? Generally if a load is temp controlled, the receiver will tell you if it's bad, at least that's been my experience in the 10 refer loads I ever hauled.

You saidn36 degrees so it's not frozen just has to be refrigerated... safe temp with food is 35-43 refrigerated. Anything above that and bacteria can start growing..

Load was supposed to be set to 36, I set it to 70. So it set was on and running at 70.

I didn't fully read the bol and notice the required temp at the bottom, thought I was just supposed to protect from heat and cold, plus dispatch usually sends macros of temp is wrong.

The question I have is are they check marks or minus sign on the paper work, and how long does the receiver have to file a claim? It was draught and draft beer.

8/2 split.... please help!

Hi guys. I am in a bind. I don't have ten hours before I have to unload in the morning. How can I do the 8/2 split? I can't be late. Please help! Thank you!

Taking 8 or more hours in sleeperberth makes all the sleeper berth time on that 8+ hours not count agisnt your 14.

The new 14 hour clock starts from the last time you had 2 hours or more off duty or in sleeper, but remember th that the 8+hours in sleeper still don't count against your 14

Had my first run yesterday in four months!

My trainers would park at the fuel island. If I'm just going for a pee and coffee I pull thru to the yellow line but not sit at the pumps. Once or twice they had me take a 30 at the line. I didn't like that and thought it rude.

If you leave the truck it's rude, I once waited 30 min to fuel and after that I pounded at the truck and started to walk in for management, he came out and I passed him so he went in the passenger side LOL.

If I take my 30 in the fuel island I'll pull up and circle back if someone finishes pumping behind me, of your elogs won't let you circle just take your 30 on the off ramp ffs

Got four hours to restack this

Dispatcher took a chance on me and I've failed, been at it since 9am with a 3 hour break, tried everything and before this was taken there was straps and more string on it but was trying to restock again before giving up

Guess now my dm hates me and will push to get me fired, reeeee

Takes me about an hour to stack all the product with a few rope ties on the way , otherwise product about 5 layers under shifts causing it all to fall. Had almost all the product stacked sans about 12 units and strapped it down and did a shake test, it of course shifted and all tumbled

Bad time to start Celadon training?

I'm currently have my recruiter waiting on me to get my permit and the more I read on it the more I'm thinking the company may be on the verge of collapse. Would I be best to look elsewhere?

Just started with celadon 6 weeks ago, I knew their was a possibility of this happening because people have been saying it some time, but celadon was one of the few willing to take a chance in me.

So far things haven't changed for me , although i had time off in Idaho for the 25th which i requested a month ago and my DM kept sending me to the northeast, granted most reefer loads go there but yeah. Still sitting here due to an issue with load.

Miles are good when things run smoothly which is next to never for me , maybe because I'm bad at my job or just crap luck I don't know.

I've had pre loads in my pre load.

I'd just start and hope for the best, who knows maybe you will be able to collect unemployment if they go under.

Celadon is an amazing starter company because they won't baby you, hard brakes, over speed , out of route , they really don't care as long as you get the freight there in damaged , safely and legally

How did this get damaged in transit

Here's a good link to the image http://imgur.com/ZMMdaZy

Hard telling for sure but it looks like the bottom of that leg may have come loose from the pallet and the wrap pulled it to the left while the weight of the load shifted the upper part to the right.

I see now, yeah that makes sense and then all the plastic containers squashed each other pushing the pots out.

Was thinking maybe it was just dropped hard, although i guess if the left came loose the top shelf weight pushing down cause it to become bent.

How did this get damaged in transit

I forgot company policy for claims and ended up leaving shipper, but they had no parking and a TA was a mile away so I figured no big deal.

Anyhow I can't figure out how this would have had happened

Werner making me go 8 hours away instead of one

So I got my prehire from Werner for their Dollar General account, but instead of going to the terminal that does orientation an hour from my house they want me to take a rental car 8 hours to another one.

When I asked why he said they started a new program where someone goes out with you to make sure and show you how to alley dock instead of just handing you the keys, and that the closer one doesn't do it.

Now I really don't mind being with a trainer for a week or two because my backing skills do need work. It just seems fishy that the recruiter was forcing me to go to the one 8 hours away.

Anyone ever hear of something like this?
