Variant trucking company.

I actually got to pull a dry box couple weeks back. I was assigned to a Walmart dc in Tomah, Wisconsin to pull Walmart loads to walmart stores. It was a learning experience I learned about bulkheads and back hauls. They put 2 stores on one truck with the trailer divided into 3 areas, 32 degrees in front -20 in the middle and 32 in the back. Run the stores then pick up a load of Nigeria water and head back to dc. One day my assigned trailer was a dry box had to ask another driver how to pull the tandems , works different from reefer.

I actually did that out of Missouri when I worked for swift had to pull reefer to the different stores

Variant trucking company.

The vinyl wrap business is stagnant even in bigger cities; a cousin in CLEVELAND is folding this year, after 12. No money for non essential things, most people believe. Sorry, man.

No thoughts about Swift/Knight ?? Why (not?)

I don't know much about Variant, but..Brett (and my Tom) drove for USX back when!

I loved swift when I was there but all the people that I worked with are now gone and moved on. And I just decided to try a new company. And I’ve heard many many good things about variant. Which is operated by usx but totally different people. So I’m going to give them a shot :)

Variant trucking company.

Hey guys. It’s been 4 years since my last post lol. But I did my time at swift. And moved on to a few local company’s. Unfortunately I had fender bender in cmv nothing major but it is on my mvr got the ticket dismissed. But as you know that hinders jobs wanting to bring me on.

I stopped driving since august last year (2021 ) to pursue to start my own vinyl car wrapping business it is not going so well because I live in area where people complain about stuff being too expensive.

Any ways enough of my life story. But I will like to announce I will now be driving again soon OTR with variant trucking ( U.S. Express ) and I am excited to return OTR. :)

My recruiter said my application is good to go and they take care of everything before we get there since it’s all online. Now I’m waiting to let her know when I’m ready to leave for orientation :)

Repo load ?

Oh ok thanks guys ! I never heard a repo load before I’m glad I decided to ask lol. And yeah I think they said it’s a very hot load. I’m assuming it must deliver at that exact time ?

Repo load ?

So i am on a hobby lobby load that picks up at the dc in Oklahoma City and then have two stops one in Toledo Mississippi and the other in Florence Alabama. My driver leader says it’s a repo load and they get paid pretty good. What does it mean by repo load ?

WHY DO CSR DO THIS ?

Thanks Errol ! I have a great driver leader she gives me the miles. All this just so happened when she was on vacation for a few days :/ but yes I use google maps a lot. Time management I still got to work on. I get to my places on time. And sometimes these locations are so out of the wall I’m there on time but I miss it because it may be a hidden entrance lol.

WHY DO CSR DO THIS ?

Well the thing is I didn’t accept the load some one committed the load for me. I didn’t realize it was on me. :/ but the other factor that went into my lost of time was traffic was backed up because of an accident in the middle of the road :(

WHY DO CSR DO THIS ?

So I had a load the other day that I couldn’t make because I ran out of hours after the previous load I dropped. And the next load was scheduled 2-3 hrs later. So I contacted Driver Leader and they talked to csr. The csr are told me and I quote. “ They will load you tomorrow at 07:00”. I’m thinking ok cool so they set up a different appointment time. But when I got there the next day the boss man said. We don’t open on The Weeknd’s. I’m just confused on why csr would do that ? It sounded like csr talked to the company and made a reschedule appointment. But in reality they didn’t talk to them at all

International pro star backing problem

Yeah it just really sucks when I have a good set up and I can’t even back it up good with out the truck jerking and slinging my stuff everywhere. It’s really annoying. And embarrassing too.

International pro star backing problem

How's it doing on a straight back?

When I straight back it’s fine. But when I have to set up for a angle back that’s when it’s a problem. It’s like when I have to turn the wheel that’s whe it starts shaking a lot.

Oops. Sorry it’s a automatic. And I’m very careful about touching the gas. But just the slightest touch the thing shakes like crazy

International pro star backing problem

So I’ve been out by myself for 3 weeks now with swift. :) yay. But the problem I have is when I back my truck shakes very VERY bad and it slings my stuff around. I have 14 international pro star... what is causing this ? It’s annoying when I try to back into a spot and at a truck stop.

Let's put some faces to names

Bryan: I bet with your baby-face looks along with wearing a Heritage Bible College t-shirt, how many times have you had your cheeks pinched by the older ladies out there saying "what a sweet young man you are!"

I get so many looks because people think I’m little kid driving the big ole machine lol
