I am starting a new journey in my life. I spent a lot of days on the truck with family and loved it. Never really thought much about doing it myself. I'm not sute why I hadn't given thought to it. One day after work being rained out again a friend asked me why I never tried driving like my step dad and like that it hit me I had no good answer why and couldn't understand why I never thought about it. To say the lease my step dad if pleased because he is extremely proud of being a trucker. Now I'm looking for the opportunity to prove myself

Thanks Scott I might be joining you at CFI. I am going through the process to see if I'm accepted. Because I have a felony. I'm also going through the process with prime us xpress and western dairy. To be honest you make CFI sound attractive. Prime does also

Thanks rainy. My wife an I had a long discussion about this. We both decided that for a year I would put my head down and drive. Not worry about home time take it when it comes and not complain we both think that is the way to approach this. No excuses just drive

It took me a day of nothing but negative reviews to see that. People tend to blame others for failure. Started on company facebook page and would ask current drives who had left reviews. Most drivers are straight they told me the good and bad about the company. No company is perfect

No after a day of reading 90 percent horror reviews on the web I decided to go straight the drivers. Ive read diaries on here and other forums. From what I can tell certain people willfind food at every company a certain will only find the bad. Is it normal to be scared of the size of the truck

So ive been researching companies that offer CDL training. This is what I know so far. You will find people who absolutely love a company and people who hate that same company. Every company has their own perks. So my question is does the company really matter or is it solely on the person? And when did you know You were in the right line of work? Ive spent a lot of time on a truck with family and love being on the road. But I'm scared of driving a big truck. I'm not at all comfortable with the size. Is that a bad thing or did any of y'all start out scared of the size. Thanks

I would like to know if any prime drivers who went through their training knows if you have to get the Missouri permit or if you alreadt have one is the one you have ok. I'm going throught the processes with a couple companies. A few require you get your permit first. I am waiting on a call back from prime today. Also CFI and Millis. Who are processing my application. And western dairy transport says I have to have it before they will processes it. They are hiring for local drivers and would send me to a school about 20 minutes from my house in bryan/college station Tx. So I guess what I'm asking is if I decide to go with prime will I be wasting money getring my permit for those othwr companies.
As always I appreciate thw help

Young guy wanting to get started in Texas
G town not sure if you read my whole response or just read first sentence. But I said read bad stuff on internet. But I talked to their drivers who had good stuff to say. Then I listed the o ly negatives I found. So that was me explaining to him not to listen to what people write but to go straight to the people working there.

Please stop putting stock in what you read on the internet...it’s is unchecked, often embellished information posted primarily by people that could not hack this industry, or performed poorly or who were unsafe drivers. You have zero clue about the individual who wrote the headtrash you read and they could care less about helping you make the right decision./blockquote>
I spoke with current driver and got there opinions. After ready bad stuff about them I went straight to the drivers and I heard geeat stuff from them like I said. But they did mention a few negative
