I am back

I started with Schneider and still consider them to be a good training/starter company. How much experience do you have.? The company I drive for is JS Helwig and they require a minimum of 6 months, last I heard. I’ve been very happy where I am. When I first started, I didn’t know enough to know what I did or didn’t like. But I do know now that I prefer the smaller company. Others prefer the mega companies. To each his own. You just need to investigate your options. Look at company websites, call recruiters with a list of your questions and then go from there.

What the heck? How does that happen? Although it has to dramatically increase tread life on the smaller tire, lol.

Walmart Private Fleet to drop dedicated carriers

That's interesting.

I know FedEx went in the opposite direction over the past few years for home deliveries. They are now letting everyday people use their personal vehicles to make deliveries. I've had a few deliveries come to my house that way. I look out in the driveway and see an old, beat-up car pull in and I get my package from someone who just signed up with FedEx to make some deliveries.

All companies make changes when the economy tanks. It's interesting to watch the different strategies play out.

Sounds like a good way to get shot. Somebody said that the new most dangerous job is being a Jehovah’s Witness.

Does that mean Walmart still requires 30 months of driving experience for new hires?

Suction cup hooks are a great suggestion;/ option. . I’m going to look into them.

Hooks. Used them all over when otr, but they’re a real lifesaver when winter training in a day cab. Couple guys with winter gear, ppe gear, lunch boxes, thermoses, etc., and all with a stick in the middle-getting as much off the floor as you can is great.

Hooks are great. I have lots of ideas about using hooks, but some of them involve drilling a small hole. (About 3/16”). I think most companies forbid this. Can I do this or will I get in trouble deep?

Background Check - MVR or Criminal History or Both

I love paper logs but then again, I drafted and did a lot of my own architectural drawings and would have them ran through engineering for a stamp.

Davy, we have had very similar backgrounds. I grew up with architectural drafting and still have all my drafting equipment, just gathering dust. Computer Aided Design made everything I did obsolete. I guess it’s just like Automated transmissions have made manuals a rarity.

Time moves on. Adapt or die, as the saying goes.

Davy, that’s awesome, dude! You talked about your musical equipment before, but the photo is great. I always wondered about how you made that work.

However, with the drums, I have to be careful not to park next to you overnight. Lol

Pre-Trip Help: Clearance Lights or Marker Lights?

Pelican, great question. The result has been a good refresher course.
