Long road to Prime

We were near Washington CH and took off to pick up another load for CA as the flakes began to fall.

Long road to Prime

Home time Christmas and New Year's was nice with the wife. Back I road with TNT and gaining experience driving 75 and NE region. Did not like NJ skinny lanes but I got great training during PSD so all is good. Finally get a load going to LA. Decided to dodge some forming weather and took I-40. Good thing, I-80 shut down. Deliver and catch another load to OH. Back across I-40 and experience some wind gusts, not too bad. Switch to TNPK and finish my shift crossing into MO, snow flurry. Out of nowhere car ahead disappears. Slow way down, throw on flashers, wake trainer. Clear the snow and swap out. Hit up terminal for shower, food, and laundry. Finished drive to OH and setting up for a much needed break.

Automatic Truck/ Engine Break in Rain??

Still too green to know exactly how to handle the weather. The truck you mentioned has a manual mode switch, you mentioned. If that model is set up like the modern ones are, the right hand stalk should double as a paddle shifter. This should allow you to move through gears when needed and the auto function will take back over when it thinks it should. All the trucks I've been in, push the stalk outward/pull inward to shift gears. Move clockwise like a turn signal to engage the engine break. If you set the manual mode switch, it'll stay in the gear you select until auto mode is reselected. Hope something helps.

Before leaving town for training

I have to report to a branch in person to get some restrictions lifted. Good to know the fraud department is working, just makes some personal issues more difficult to deal with.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before. Let your bank know what your plans are, they may not find your new activity acceptable.

That's the one pictured. Although I couldn't get it to work for me until I got a people badge.

Long road to Prime

After a few hectic days OTR w/TNT, we are scheduled for home time. I get to spend time w/wife and relax. If there are any questions regarding my experience w/Prime so far I'm more than happy to answer them.

Long road to Prime

Don't have much time. First day, 7 hours. Mountains. Second day, same. Felt well rested and was told to go as long as I felt good to drive. Freedom. 10 hours. Ramp to truck stop didn't turn out great. Downtown. Wake up trainer. Reroute to swap out. Time to rest up for next go round.

PS. Thank you all for the kind words, wisdom, and encouragement. My TNT trainer is great and is making sure I'll be knowledgeable and safe.
