Well passed pti and backing but failed driving

Stalled the truck but it was a extenuating circumstance Was coming to the train tracks saw the workers they weren't moving So i slowed down but kept driving one came to stop traffic And i had to stop quickly and stalled would have still passed But i forgot to turn on my hazards while i tried to start the truck

Training at crst

Been awhile since I've posted been busy testing and class so I'll update on my progress

Week 1 was all testing getting all that out of the way first shot

Week 2 this where the fun began day one i learned shifting picked it up quick considering i never drove a standard before That same i day i did so well they put me under a trailer 53 footer and on the road

Day 2 backing straight line offset and 90 the 90 gave me fits for a little while but i eventually got it in the bag

Day 3 was the a mixture of the two driving around in town and backing

Day 4 they took me on the dot route 16 miles the night before it snowed and the roads where iced Never spun a tire perfect drive no points

Day 5 i made most of the runs to fuel the trucks and all my instructors Are surprised that i never have drove a stick or a rig they swear its in my blood And i have so much fun driving i feel like a kid in the candystore

Off tomorrow and i test for my cdl Thursday if i pass I'll be hitting the road

Drive safe truckers

CRST here i come

Congratulations Steven! Very exciting isn't it?

Here's a tip - when you start your orientation observe the people who are there with you. Trust me, there are gonna be a few knuckleheads there. They will either be the ones that know way more than the instructors, or they will be the ones that you will be wondering why they even bothered to show up in the first place. Avoid them, don't let the instructors associate you as being one of them. You're not there to make friends, you're there to learn to drive big trucks. If you come across someone that seems to want this as badly as you do, you might want to get to know them a little better because they just might turn out to be someone that you would like to team with once you get put in a truck.

Again, Congratulations, and best of luck to you!

;) Thanks old school I'll keep that in mind.. I just hope my team driver likes making money as much as me

Getting in is harder than it seemed

Little baby boys...ya'll are just little baby boys !!! rofl-1.gif

ah...now I feel better....this cold weather is making me cranky..I really like to see young drivers start out from here, because we train 'em right !! TT's grads leave our cyber halls with pride in themselves, their profession, and making the trucking world better, one driver at a time. Nothing will change the opinion the motoring world has of truckers...only truckers can make the motoring world see a better more professional driver... So you baby boys just get on in here and let us older drivers impart some of our hard won knowledge on you..cuz short of spending as many years on the road as we have, its the only way you're gonna get it !!

That is true and willing to learn...my farther in law was telling about when he firstfgot in it about cooking the books on time and good pay to bad that went away i think i have insomnia lol jk

Good luck! Just go with any company willing to take you on. After some experience, a whole new world of opportunities will open up to you.

A bit off topic.

Steven, how old are you? I swear you look like a bigger version of me.

Lol thanks just ready to get going and I'm 23

Recruiters love to see people who are eager to work there. Recruiters normally get paid some sort of commission or bonus based on the number of drivers they bring into the company. So when they see someone that is eager to work there they are normally willing to work with you more closely in the hopes it will pay off for them.

So believe me, they're not going to be annoyed with you for showing you're truly interested in being there. You'll get a lot more attention and things will be pushed through more quickly because of it.

Just got off the phone with Knight apparently safety passed on my app don't know why thoughguess I'll jwait for someone else to call

applied for multiples of the cdl sponsored training one's yet no replies or forwards to voice-mail the main one i was interested in is knight but to no avail so far. i figured it wouldn't be that bad considering my spotless record but alas my work history is standing in my way of the most of it being a stay at home dad because my wife had a promising career but things change... any advice on remedying this issue would greatly appreciated.

(excuse the lack of punctuation that was never a strong suit of mine :).)
