So, are you headed to Cedar Rapids, or do you already have a CDL?

Congratulations Steven! Very exciting isn't it?

Here's a tip - when you start your orientation observe the people who are there with you. Trust me, there are gonna be a few knuckleheads there. They will either be the ones that know way more than the instructors, or they will be the ones that you will be wondering why they even bothered to show up in the first place. Avoid them, don't let the instructors associate you as being one of them. You're not there to make friends, you're there to learn to drive big trucks. If you come across someone that seems to want this as badly as you do, you might want to get to know them a little better because they just might turn out to be someone that you would like to team with once you get put in a truck.

Again, Congratulations, and best of luck to you!

Congrats Steven!

Unfortunately it's going to be the slow season in trucking by the time you get out there so the freight might be a little thin at first, but no big deal. And Old School is right on - stick with the people who are there to learn and take it seriously, avoid the ones with a lousy attitude. The latter won't be there long anyhow.

Let us know how it goes for ya!
