Another Thanks!

Well, the High Road CDL Training Program comes through again! I went to the DMV yesterday and successfully obtained my CDL permit with a Tanker endorsement. The lady that processed my paperwork mentioned that most people fail at least one portion of the test on their first try and honestly I am not sure if I would have passed if I relied only on the CDL manual. Although all the information you need is in the manual the online training program does an awesome job of breaking the information down and makes it much more digestible. Of course, now the real work begins. I am going to SAGE (Lexington SC) driving school on Monday for registration and a drug test and should begin class on the 28th. Starting school is both exciting and a bit intimidating but I feel like I am a couple steps ahead of the game thanks to this website.

Sage Truck Driving School

Interesting. I am starting at Sage in South Carolina on the 28th and they required me to get my permit prior to enrolling in class (I figured all their schools were a like). As far as companies hiring from Sage, a most of the companies I have researched so far recommended that I go there.

Head-On Crash Between School Bus, FedEx Truck Kills at Least 10

Thoughts and prayers to the those killed/injured and their loved ones. Stay safe

eysnzkqptojugesesk9h.jpghttp://gawker.com/nine-people-killed-in-fiery-high-school-tour-bus-crash-1562075247

At least ten people, including five students, are dead after a FedEx truck crossed a divider on a Northern California freeway and slammed into a bus carrying a group of high school seniors who were on their way to tour a college campus.

According to the AP, the bus was full of a group of Los Angeles-area high school seniors headed to Humboldt State University in Arcata, California for a campus tour.

California Highway Patrol told KTLA that a southbound FedEx truck crossed the center divider and crashed head on into the bus. A Nissan Altima was also involved in the crash.

The vehicles collided on the Interstate 5 around 5:40 pm, sparking a fire that completely engulfed the bus. Authorities say several students were airlifted to area hospitals.

UPDATE 8:01 am: The death toll from the crash now stands at 10, including five students. Three adult chaperones, the driver of the bus, and the driver of the truck were also killed.

Dispatcher training

Like Rico said, start by talking to some dispatchers. Also, look through job postings and focus on the Experience and Qualifications. For example, below is a FM Job Post from Roehl Transport. As a Fleet Manager you are the key operations link between the company and both our drivers and customers. Cool Picture. I use to issue weather advisories for those during my Air Force days. Anchorman and Dave are right, they are used to assist with border security.

Best Fleets to Drive For: 2014

Must remember that these "rewards" and titles are based on the companies current drivers opinions.

Then making it on this list is even more impressive given all the negative crap that's out there. I am sure there is some bias against the large companies that recruit a lot of new drivers but even so the companies on this list must be doing some good things to recruit and retain quality people.
