Problems With My Company Truck

What ever you do, Do Not Leave The Truck! if you leave the truck somewhere other than at a terminal or somewhere told to you By the company YOU will be labeled as abandoning the vehicle and won't be working for anyone. If you are told by the company to deliver it somewhere make sure you have someone (not the janitor) at the destination give you a signed receipt for the delivery of the truck, trailer any cargo and keys. And also the current condition of vehicle (keep hold of those pics and any proof of contact with co.) once you leave it someone could trash it more and you would have no proof it wasn't you. Cover your ass!!!!!!!! Sounds extreme but think of how many ways this can come back on you.....good-luck.gif

Prime recruiting conversation

Just a thought, figure the average miles per week, 2500? oops! not 3000 so who's actually winning? The number looks good and is obtainable, you will push to get it, For that day off! If you are out there busting your "Ass" for the company rather than taking it a little bit easier in the same amount of time, 7 days, who benefits? and the hard running, is that going to change your fuel bonus? Just a thought confused.gif

Why take a refresher course if you have trucking experience?

Just do yourself a favor if you go the route, If it's not with the Co. that your going to be driving for: Make sure of what they are actually going to be refreshing, IF they say classroom hours Ask "What is being taught?" you might end up in a class with a bunch of "Newbies" that haven't even touched a truck, Meaning, your starting at General Knowledge 101 Road time, how much is driving and how much is sitting in the back?, watching your life flash in front of you multiple times.( See how many students are in each drive time) or" What the student to trainer ratio is while driving? Remember that you get what you pay for, and I can tell you that an extra $500. would have gone a long way between a 4 to 1 ratio and kindergarten or a 1 on 1 ratio and knowledge. It might seem like a pain in the ass but if it keeps you behind the wheel or with license to do so, isn't it worth it? and more than likely your going to get reimbursed anyways by the company.confused.gif

GA Permit and the Hazmat endorsement test

It runs different in each state because the FED's gave the DMV's the right to make their own rules for licensing. In NH you have to wait till your prints are ok'd and DMV is contacted before you can test. Good Luck!

Fair wage and mileage?

The three companies that you list as far as I know are basically 'No Touch". Every job posted, that I have seen, states 85%( +) of drop and hook and the last figure I got for fedex was $20. an hour. You might want to even check in with a mail carrier service- 4day work week $25.00 per hr and yes right here in the Northeast.good-luck.gif

Minivan crashes into tractor-trailer, dragged 16 miles

Hey Phil, I saw this yesterday and after reading couldn't stop laughing. I made the mistake of just putting "surprise" as the topic. So happy that we, TT drivers, weren't blamed for once. (and no one being hurt, of course!) Gives a new meaning to "Hitching up"rofl-2.gif Take care, MRC

Surprise!!

shocked.png

When I was a kid and it snowed we used to grab bumpers of cars and trucks and slide along the city streets. Doing it in a van takes it to a whole different level. Seriously though, thank God no one was hurt...or worse.

Oh, those were the days! Did the same thing, innocent fun from a stop sign on the corner, with the guys. And most of the drivers knew what you were doing because they did it as kids. Try it today and you'll probably end up with a muzzle in your face. Thanks for the memory!smile.gif
