Two Near Misses

This probably sounds nuts, but it works. If a truck is about to pass me on the left but they're really hugging those white stripes between us, I'll actually inch a little closer to them. They usually scoot over a little in their lane and I go back to the middle of my lane and we don't have an issue while they're passing me. If they're already next to you, pretty much your only option is to try to get away from them.

Hi Pianoman, tried your way and guess what, it worked!! Got me smiling/laughing/singing/whistling.......

Swifters!!

Serah, I'm not a Swiftee but I doubt you're getting paid extra for that one. Some companies pay a little extra for trips into New York City, but Syracuse is like a walk in the park compared to the boroughs. That's a good load, dont be afraid of it. Upstate New York is beautiful, and the people are real friendly.

Thx OS. What is the road like?

Swifters!!

Does Swift pay more for NY trips? Was given a load to pick up from Swift Terminal in Syracuse NY for T-Call at Swift Terminal in Columbus OH. Mind you I am supposed to bobtail all the way to NY from Franklin, OH.

Two Near Misses

Am beginning to feel very unsafe out there. Its not from 4-wheelers but because of fellow truck drivers. I cannot begin to comprehend why a truck driver who is overtaking me feels the need to have the wheels on passenger side right on the white line separating the lanes. What are they thinking??

Is It Just Bad Luck?

If it truly did pull to one side while locked up, it's more than just a sensor, the brakes are seriously out of adjustment and need to be corrected.

Hi Robert, what do mean while locked up? The truck was still in motion, so l don't get it.

Is It Just Bad Luck?

Yesterday l was traveling on I-20 - westbound and at a section under construction, a flat bedder who was eastbound, lost control of his truck and it almost crossed over to my side (wish l could figure out how to post pics) ...had to break hard, then l stopped for 10 minutes to give my shaking hands and legs time to relax before moving on.

For the last 4 days the trailer abs warning light has been coming off and on - with 5 trailers, after taking of them to the shop, am beginning to wonder if the problem is with the trailers....but what do l know!

Yesterday l felt as if the trailer skidded abit but thought maybe it was the uneven roads. Today it happened twice and the second time it almost went off the road....veeerrry scary, it wasn't the road and it wasn't windy either. I decided not to drive anymore even after roadside said l should drive to the nearest terminal....160 miles back to El Paso. I said NO, l wasn't driving anymore till someone looked at it.

Now waiting at the intersection between I-10E and I-20E in TX.

Wave when you pass by...lol.

Out of time

Your batteries should be fine. Does your truck happen to have the ability to self start if your batteries start getting low, just in case?

Stay safe on the shoulder.. it's dangerous there as I'm sure you realize.

Hugs.

Thanks Susan. Its a pretty quiet road....just dark. Am parked almost 4 feet off the white line. Don't know much about this truck (2016 FL). The fact that it doesn't idle unless you accelerate once the engine light starts blinking leads me to believe that it doesn't do much on its own....smile.gif
