Getting a CDL in Florida a very bad idea?

All I know of Fla. is, when I drove for CRST for 22 months, we took maybe 6-7 loads to a drop yard in Miami. Never had a load coming back out, so we'd grab an empty, and they'd route us out of Miami to Georgia etc for our next load. Early on we had a load or 2 to Orlando, or Tampa, same thing, go north outta Fla. for a load onward.

Heard the same thing, loads go in, but nothing comes out of Fla.........Good luck in your quest into trucking

Most Cummins engines will last 1 million miles+ if maintained properly.....At a tanker company I worked for in 1990, the owners brother in law ran a truck 18 years on the same engine. I did a major rebuild on it and it had 1 million plus miles on the clock, an old Pete, with a Cummins big cam 400

Even the older International DT 366's lasted a long time, rebuilt many of those in-frame, 1 I replaced the block itself that was fun

I'd like to become a driver, but having trouble finding what I need...

Yes James, staying in the truck, rather than an apt or house, you CAN rack up cash fast! I had a 5th wheel at best friends huge 2.5 acre yard, in the back corner out of the way, and a shed. When I took home time, if i had a trailer, I'd park in the dirt road out front. No 53 footer, I'd park by my trailer, and use my little red civic to run around town in. So I gave my buddy some cash for my spot, and a cell phone bill. Trailer was off grid, so no utility bills.

The last 3 months driving, before retiring, I literally saved up $20,000+ cash those 3 months. My cash headstart, to live here in Asia. I gave my car back to my buddy, to do with as he wished....Now I think back, that if I drove a full year, I could've, maybe, saved up close to $80k at that rate ****il the recent economy/load drop)

Tips for a Good Night's Rest

At home, once I tried some binaural beats on youtube. Chankra healing those kinds, a lot are 3-12 hours long. 1st time, I fell asleep fast, by morning I thought "eh it's a fluke. Well I tried it more nights and I swear I went out like a light (from what I remembered those nights haha)

I'v used em many times, different types, and they all worked for me. I have an over active brain sometimes, and tell it to STFU already lol.....

I recommended those to a few other people I knew, and they also said it really helped them doze off quickly....There is so many to choose from and with many different MHZ levels.

Trailer tires locking up during turn?

BK you may be right, on your comment. Only thing that I can think of causing this to happen. Or it was serviced recently (trailer) and they over tightened the brakes. Or the S-Cam actuator, is dry/not lubed and just happened to stick?? Or the dang S cam's actuating part is worn/grooved, bound up somehow hmmm.

Could've just been a freaky 1 off thing that happened?

In my diesel wrenching days, seen a LOT of messed up S-cams, bad bushings in their housing tubes etc. 1 time working at a tanker outfit in L.A. I had to cut off the S-cam housing braces on the axle tubes,& replace the whole things, and re-weld the new braces on both rear axles (that was hella fun, cutting & welding while wedged between both axles lol)

The slack adjusters were like 18+ inches away from the drums, long tubes

Recent Suspended License on Record - Deal Breaker For Future Employers?

I'd do as BK suggests, heaven forbid ANY DMV's out there, admitting they possibly made a mistake, let alone correct their skrew up! lol Been there, done that.

Retired Trucker Looking for Advice

I was unemployed a few years, as well before ever getting into trucking in 2019. I had 1 of my old bosses I've known over 20 years write a letter on his company letterhead. And my best buddy I've known since 2nd grade=50 years, wrote 1 too..... I didn't notarize em, but their contact info was provided on their letters, the company was all good with that.

How to Use PAPS & PARS ?

Ya need to explain what you're asking better. Like what is PARS/PAPS clearances? Seem's you're a foreigner seeking something to work here. (I googled both, made no sense of either 1)

Tell your story better, so people are maybe more able to help in what you seek. Or try contacting those entities, and ask them directly?

Have a good day

When you've spent too many days in Wyoming

Yuppp I absolutely hated Wyoming AND Nebraska! lol Aside from the crappy weather, mostly thru Wyo... Same thing, seemed once we got on that dang I-80, it took weeks to route us back down south.... Too many stranded days in Wyoming winters, NOT getting paid and costing us money all around.

Snow capped mountains, look a LOT nicer from far away, like at home. In the high desert, surrounded by the mountains, view was much better from home lol....Now here in Asia, a 68 degree day is cold, normally the coldest is 70 F hahaha
