Being forced to wear a CPAP device?

There is an alternative to the mask. It is called a nasal pillow. You can do a search and see if you think that will work for you.

thats what i use, so much more comfortable then any "mask" and for me its far less prone to leak

Fingerprinting Loads (that is - DRIVER UNLOADS)

Personally i don;t touch fright. If they will pay a lumper 300 bucks to unload and only pay me 50 bucks, they can pay the lumper, not worth the risk of me getting hurt :D

Hey ChickieMonster

Straight out of school, schneider is at 31 so I was basing it on that. But the home features make up for that penny

Look at some other starter companies or companies that higher new drivers based on where you got your CDL from

I know Swift is at least 36 CPM, Warner is in the mid 30s, Prime will go into the low 40s if you drive the lightweight trucks, Crete is 45 (only highers direct from certain schools) Shaffer is at 48 (same deal as crete) Knight is in the high 30s, PTL is 35.

All that info is as of April when i talked to various companies at the MATS truck show and higher student drivers.

Don't limit your search to just a few companies apply to all of them and see what sticks :D

Me personally for what we do even starting the low 30s is not enough so don't settle for the first number people give you also look at a few things beyond just CPM like hometime and equipment.

Also if you hear back from multiple companies before you set any kind of orientation date go to a few truck stops and find drivers to the companies you are interested in and you will get a better idea of how the drivers like their company. EVERY company will have downsides and upsides its finding the company that has the upsides for you to deal with their downsides. For instance I HATE the truck i drive but i make too much to go to a lower paying company that has the truck i prefer.

Considering switching to dry van

If you some experience (over 6 months) you do have options.

There are a number of companies that will hire guys with limited experience. Some also might be better suited for the way you want to run as well.

If you are even open to new companies look around and see what's out there.

Hey ChickieMonster

Hey just met the TransAm recruiter today. Nice equipment, 30 cpm could be better but what is a ballpark figure of miles that you would get when you first started? He was preaching 2500 to 3000 but he is a recruiter.

do you have any experience or you straight out of school?? Just curious as 30 cpm is low even for a new driver, MANY companies do better.

SS card?

Dealt with that issue at AZ-DOT for a state I.D. card lol ((Arizona residents do NOT have to have the chipped DL's / ID's until 2020))

I was not going to get an Arizona drivers license. They would not accept my "original" birth cert from the hospital from 1959 no seal? My mom never sent in the $1.00 for it , now inflation, it's $25.......Yet, U.S. Navy accepted it in 1977(a photo copy no less) BUT AZ-DOT, did accept my DD-214? still has NO damn seal...I guess they figure, only I would have that paper? lol

Dumb, anyway, just got my app for a NEW B.C., so I can proceed to get a passport next!..........Kinda tweaked me, having to give Calif MORE $$ When I don't even live there hahahaha. It is what it is I guess

I laminated my social security card soon as I got it when I was 13, never had an issue with it being so???

well they say specifically now to laminate them... laminating a SS car that is

Cooking and refrigerators in your truck?

I could definitely understand a company policy regarding inverters that would need to be wired to the battery. I guess I have only ever seen the ones that plug into the 12V cigarette lighter sockets and allow you to plug in your 120v stuff. I am sure they have some kind of max rated capacity you can run your truck.

anything over 400 watts will blow fuses..... been there done that.

SS card?

You need your ss card for tax reasons.. they need to prove it's your number.

You NEED your birth cerificate with a raised seal from your state of birth. A passport alone will not be accepted. Nor will a hospital cerificate. .. it needs to be from the state with a raised seal or you will be sent home

not correct. a passport is just fine.

I have had it

Eckoh, you are a Johnny wadder? I graduated Charleston 1993 myself. Trying my best to get out of restaurants(for 2nd) time. Running into a few hurdles but I'm hoping to get there. Where did you go and when did u graduate?

I graduated with my second degree in 2003. I got my culinary arts degree from Norfolk VA and got the entrepreneurship degree from Providence. I was actually in the last class for the entrepreneurship degree. It was hurting their graduation percentage too hard, less then 30% of the people going for it failed to graduate, of the 35 in my "class" only 13 managed to pass. I was told in the 5 years they offered that degree only 55 people managed to get it, so its kinda pointless in the real world now even though it was the one best suited for actually opening and running places not just managing them.

I opened and sold 5 places in the following years then got out of the business when family got ill, when they passed i desided to get into trucking as i pretty much hate people now and i do not have to interact with many with this job :D
